There is more damage because synthesis but prettymuch without a huge investment the dps would probably be comparable to the example video.
You can go for more damage on the tree but again it's not gonna be a huge difference maker. I have no idea what i could do to fix bossing honestly, big gripe i have with the build.

use ENVY essense on ring. Better got more jew slot - +12 dmg over time and 3% non-ailiment dmh over time give you a lot of dmg. Voidwalker boots give pierce for 5 targets and some def.
