As a New Zealand player who lives in Auckland, I'm having a hard time thinking of a reason I wouldn't attend.

I would love to visit New Zealand! Flights look fairly reasonable and depending on hotel costs it literally wouldn't be a huge increase over simply flying across the country (Canada).
