Exactly. The only thing different from his Build & mine is that he has Amplify, Inner Focus and 1 extra link on GS...

Shame you need gear worth over 15 Exalted to be comparable as a Melee-focused Class.

I'm also willing to bet he was getting trucked hard on the way to level 68 to use Koam's Heart, or was grouping most of the way after 55.

Implying grouping/partying with others is bad? Go back under your bridge.

This game is meant to be played with friends/ in a party.

Take it easy, jizzrag. Nobody is implying anything.

Naturally you play a Caster or some Arrow-Spewing class who's only face-to-face interaction is with NPC's in town.

If you actually played a Pure Melee class past level 50, you'd realize that getting through Merciless, or in some cases, Cruel, it's REQUIRED to group, not a choice. Otherwise, you're just too soft, unless you have DECKED gear. Sadly, even in Merciless, you're too low-level to wear some of the best Melee gear (Koams Heart), so you'll barely survive if you make it out of Merciless.

THAT'S my point, the fact that Casters and Ranged Classes can hopscotch to Map levels, but Melee players have to cling to groups or use some kind of cheap-ass mechanic like Summon Skeleton Totems in order to make it past 55.

What's wrong with the game developers having melee classes to be in a party only? Yes lighting arrow is insanely op and I believe it will get nerfed, that's why I'm sticking to my lvl 80 marauder. I'm following Rhox's build with a little different tree, it's fun but I need better gear.

Yes I have played past 50, im only lvl 80 now. And I agree, I need to be in a party most of the time, unless I have insane gear and do that lawnmower build.

But in any event, I just called you out on your bullcrap spools about putting people down for being in a party. I know tons of you guys in ventrilo that always rage at other players for playing in a party.. Why because you're scared you're going to get ninja'd?

I owned my way until maps on hc without grouping for quests (only grouping for exp runs ledge/fellshrine/docks) and i soloed everything with this

You may be a Pure Melee class, but you have to rely on Minions...or technically a group.

if you have semi decent gear (5L chest, 4L everywhere else) with +HP and 1-2 resists, spending very little amount of currency, you can achieve pretty much 3-4k life running quad-5 auras.

Getting a very cheap mana leech ring or Wyrms Molt, allows for you to not need anything else to be mana sufficient in most situations.

Prior to this, I had to run purity, and other auras and 7 endurance charges to plow through maps, but I could solo most maps, just would take a lot longer.

True. melee is gimped, but with 7 endurance charges + a flask, no matter how shitty your base armor is, you can still easily achieve 80% + damage reduction.

with 7 endurance charges and a granite flask, I had 94% damage reduction.



I soloed my whole way through on this character. I leveled in the same zone for multiple levels (ledge, forest, city of sarn) all through the difficulties. I leveld in merciless city of sarn with pure MF gear from 60-75ish running granite flasks every run and made a SHIT TON of currency just selling rares and drops; giving me enough money to purchase better quality gear.
