[3.5] Lioneye's Glare Ele Conversion Raider (all content, videos up)

Playing this build in Betrayal SC atm

Sadly I don't have time to no-life much more than just the launch weekend:(.

Here is day 2 betrayal progress:

Spoiler
Here is my atlas at the moment (108% completed):

Got the build going strong. lvl 86atm, 108% atlas bonus - that 250% Raider move speed using basic items feels pretty fast^^. in-game tooltip dps around 60k for TS now (with 8 frenzy charges).

PoB Pastebin of my current 95lvl Raider in Abyss -> https://pastebin.com/pDMacLxr

Intro

Hi. This is my variation of Barrage / Tornado shot raider. This is a Hybrid Ele conversion / Crit build meaning we have around ~60% crit. Some builds skip crit altogether, others go full crit. This build basically picks the best Ele Dmg, Crit and Life nodes creating a hybrid.

This build has great map clear with TS and huge barrage dps - amazing at killing bosses. You can kill all the content in PoE very, very fast without spending a lot. This build has around ~ 5k hp and relies on manual skills when dodging boss one shots. Having ~50% attack dodge chance and 40% for spell dodge chance helps plenty (75% with vaal grace).

☑ No legacy Gear
☑ No Abyssus
☑ No weapon swap
☑ No Mirrored items
☑ 7+ mil dps
☑ 160%+ move speed
☑ Clears all content

Item choices

Lioneye's Glare is in my opinion a better option for a mid-budget build than doomfletch or death's opus. This bow has up to 360pdps which in reality is closer to 400pdps if you consider that it always hits. 24% increased elemental damage is great too. After buff Far shot is amazing. Very underrated bow.

Shroud of the Lightless is currently the best/cheapest Armour for this build. It has elemental penetration (penetrates all elements), a lot of life/shield and a jewel slot. It's also very cheap around 2ex for a 6link (!!).

The Signal fire is needed to convert phys damage to elemental. Also it gives a ton dps with ias and extra fire damage. If you can get +1 arrow mod that's really good too.

For helmet you want something with +1 barrage projectiles enchant. There is a lot of options here: a rare helmet (like the one above), Rat's nest, Starkonja's Head, the best would be probably Lightpoacher - new abyss helmet - with 2 GG abyssal jewels. The rare helmet is the cheapest option. 2 jewel Lighpoacher (without an enchant) is also a good, balanced option.

2 soc Tombfists are baisically the best option for this due to incredible 10% MORE, damage from intimidate, attack speed, life and 2 whole abyss jewels. Seriously these gloves are pretty stacked. If you can't get them you can use 1 soc version or rare ones with phys damage, attack speed, life and resists.

On boots you want: life, movement speed, resistances. 10% penetration enchant is very good if you plan to do boss farming. Darkray Vectors are a good option for this build to. Of course Bubonic trail with 2 sockets is OP, if you can afford it get that.

You want to get resists, life, Elemental damage with attack skills, phys damage and crit on rings, belt, and amulet. For damage prioritize Elemental damage with attack skills on everything. Our belt is obviously Abyss belt with a good jewel. Unless you have Headhunter of course.

Here are several example jewels that I'm using now in Abyss, all crafted by myself using Alt + Regal (+Exalt) method. In general they're OP as fuck even without exalted 4th mod. Very easy to craft too, and here is how: you alt + trans until you get 2 T1-T2 mods (preferably life) and then regal hopefully another T2-T1 mod

For example in this Jewel I alted T2 lightning damage and T1 life regaled T1 cold damage and then sadly exalted T4 another cold damage. Crit watcher's eye is very good too but not necessary.

Dying sun is very important for this build as it gives a huge boost to barrage DPS. Atziri's promise gives really good leech and great damage. Taste of Hate is the least important of those 3 but still very nice: giving good damage and mitigation. Other flasks you should get are: crit flask and Quicksliver / Onslaught flask. Get bleed&curse removal on them.

Gems, Auras & Sockets

Barrage

BARRAGE + ELEMENTAL DAMAGE WITH ATTACKS + ELEMENTAL FOCUS + MIRAGE ARCHER + ADDED COLD DAMAGE WITH ATTACKS + ICE BITE

Tornado Shot

TORNADO SHOT + GMP + ADDED COLD DAMAGE WITH ATTACKS + ELEMENTAL DAMAGE WITH ATTACKS + MIRAGE ARCHER + PIERCE

Mana Reserved skills

I'm always using HATRED without any links (optional Enlighten ). Beyond that you can use:

HERALD OF FIRE
- Gives you flat +15% extra elemental damage and some burning splash damage, only requires 1 gem slot.

HERALD OF ICE + CURSE ON HIT + ASSASIN'S MARK - Gives you Power Charges when mapping (doesn't work vs bosses). In general has better damage when mapping and killing packs of mobs, worse damage vs bosses. Takes 3 gem slots

PROJECTILE WEAKNESS + BLASPHEMY (+ENLIGHTEN) - if you're not running out of mana you can use this. The best option when mapping or when you're too lazy to manual curse bosses.

Other Gems

IMMORTAL CALL + INCREASED DURATION + CAST WHEN DAMAGE TAKEN - gives you 0.7 invulnerability when you take a hit, very helpful.

VAAL GRACE + VAAL HASTE + INCREASED DURATION - I love these Vaal gems and use them always. Vaal grace gives you 75%/75% chance to dodge everything and Vaal Haste gives you 30%+ more attack speed. Often you can just activate it, go yolo and kill stuff before anything even hits you. USE THIS AS IT'S SUPER OP NOW - THE CAST TIME IS NOW INSTANT!!

If you're not using blashpemy you should use Projectile Weakness (+ Faster Casting) and obviously put Blink Arrow (+ Faster Attacks) somewhere.

Skill tree

>>> Vitality Void (by Vaal Pact) is very useful to pick if you're starting out in a new league or are new to the game. It's going to make your life easier and you can always respec out of it when you feel you have enough leech. <<<

Bandit: help Alira

Ascendancy: First: Avatar of the Slaughter then eithier Avatar of the Veil or Avatar of The Chase. Chase is more damage and is faster overall, veil is more defensive with aliment immunity and extra dodge. Both are good it's up to you if you want to have a slightly more offensive or defensive character.

Pantheon: Lunaris & Gruthkul

Shaper and Uber Atziri Guide

Spoiler
I will touch briefly on Chimera because I see a lot of people still struggling with this boss. You don't run around cleaning mobs. Stand in right bottom and clean the mobs (including the boss) as they spawn. Then move to top gate. Between the spawning phases you should clean bot right and top gate. Leave all left side for the end. If you're going to run around all of the monsters will start chasing you and you will get rekt.

SHAPER

Shaper is in general very easy to kill with the DPS we have. Just remember to always evade his Balls, and Slam - it WILL one shot you (unless dodge triggers). Laser is pretty deadly too but we can survive ~1-1,5 sec.

During bullet hell phase you need to spot where he stops and blink there asap, away from the centre because he will immediately attack the Centre. That's when I always activate Vaal grace and haste because he will almost always attack you (usually with laser) so you have guaranteed time to get DPS on him. Vaal Grace helps you survive if you're hit by a stranded bullet when you blink.

The third phase is usually the hardest because Shaper summons a clone. If you're not comfortable with stutter stepping and dodging all the attacks best thing is to just dodge everything without trying to dps - the clone will desummon after around 15 sec or during Bullet Hell phase.

One more thing you need to know is how to kill The Unshaped (2nd banishment boss). The first banishment boss - The Uncreated - is very easy, jump on top of him and dps him down. He can't kill you with projectile / melee attacks. Just dodge his charged up Super-Slam (that WILL kill you). The Unshaped (2n phase) has a new attack where he spams multiple bullets around. That WILL kill you if you're in melee range. So only Point Blank attack him when the attack ends (lasts around 4 seconds).

UBER ATZIRI

Uber Atziri is in my opinion the hardest boss in the game by far but it gets much easier when you know how the mechanics work.

First of all the mobs in the zone are all Magic & Rare and the melee mobs have elemental resistance so you won't just 1 shot them. Don't try to melee range them, they hit for a lot too. If you're not comfortable with running around dodging stuff you can just take your time and clear them slowly.

First boss you will encounter are the Vaal Twins. In general they're pretty easy until you kill one of them. Then the other one gets pissed off and basically all his attacks become very deadly. What you want to do here is to get one of them to ~ 20%, kill the other one and then finish the first one.

Second boss is the hardest in the whole zone - The Trio. During this fight I like to use Vessel of Vinktar flask for extra Life Leech against all the damage over time they do - so get that, it is necessary. First of all you want to activate all of your flasks and Vaal skills, jump in and ASAP kill the ranged one (A'alai). She won't move at all and her ranged attacks hurt a lot too so she has to go first. She dies in 1-2 seconds so if you have time kill Y'ara'az too. If it becomes hairy just run away and start dodging - those 2 you can dodge endlessly. 2nd one you need to kill is Y'ara'az. He has elemental reflect that gets buffed a lot if he's left out as a last one - thats why he has to go 2nd. Dodge them both and barrage. When he dies finish off Q'ura. Just beware his cleave applies a lot of bleed and he can be pretty sudden and fast with cyclone - other than this he's EZ.

Now that you've killed all of them you can move to Atziri's chamber. Atziri herself isn't too hard to manage. With the DPS we have each phase lasts around 1-2 seconds. How you do her is you get in her face and dps her down before she is able to do anything. During the Clone phase stay bottom right. They will always cast a flameblast on top of you (that WILL kill you) so you need to dodge that and blink to the left side. If the reflect Clone is on the left (the one with the mirror) blink to top right instead. We don't have pierce on barrage so you don't need to worry about hitting the Mirror Clone with barrage. Also dodge the lightning stuff, that will kill you too, it has 3 second delay (plenty of time). When all of this is done - GG, you just killed Uber Atziri.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why not deadeye?

Spoiler
Deadeye is very bad for this build. Deadeye is bad for this build because:

- Far shot we already have in Lioneye's Glare

- Accuracy we don't need because Lioneye's Glare always hits

- AoE we don't need because we don't do AoE damage (TS isn't aoe)

- Bleed that we don't utilize because we don't deal phys damage

- deadeye doesn't have any buffs to frenzy charges, as this build focuses on frenzy charges this is very bad

- Deadeye Doesn't have any aliment immunity therefore has to accommodate 3 affixes on flasks instead of having 90% move speed

How do I level this build?

Spoiler
I hate leveling and that is the reason I only play 1 character per league. My advice is either have a friend/team that will help you with leveling / wait one week so you can buy all the leveling items or just struggle like the rest of us. But don't lvl with tornado shot, use Toxic Rain, Frost Blades or something else. Switch to TS on blood aqueduct and farm there until 66, after you're 66 equip Lioneye's Glare and it's a breeze from this point on

Ending notes

This build is always in development as the new content and items get added.

Enjoy all! Any questions just ask.

This looks very well thought out. Im going to give this a try :D

Do you have a step by step leveling process? For what nodes to take first.
Also if 6L bow what would be the last gem?, and do you have a POB link.

Cheers
This looks interesting, now to find that 6l Ashrend :) (none on poe.trade)

If you can spare few respect points firstly I would go down to Duelist tree and grab all the life nodes. After that as the bosses get tougher you should go get acrobatics and phase actobatics. When you approach 50+ you should start climbing towards shadow tree. Picking vaal pact depends on when you have enough life leech and damage to actually use it. Leave Point blank for when you're ready to farm endgame bosses.
Last gem could be faster atatcks, crit multiplier or crit chance depending on what works best with your items (Most likely faster attacks).

Most people don't even consider it as an option because of sheep mentality. In their world only 2 unique chests exist for a bow/phys conv build: Kaom, Belly of the Beast and maybe Yriel Fostering (not sure why, in my opinion it doesn't have a lot to offer and the minion is super weak without using minion gems on it). Somehow a chest that gives flat +34% elemental damage that is multiplied by all your elemental buffs is considered not good enough. Hopefully this build and the insane Dps/budget ratio that it has proves it otherwise.

I was able to get my 6 link for 260 chaos so it's far less expensive than meta chests but it's true that it's hard to find one on sale sadly.

Hi,

nice Build, thanks for it.

Do you have a PoB link with gear etc?

Thanks again!

Hi what stats did you get on jewels mate.

Hi what stats did you get on jewels mate.

You want to look for life/attack speed/projectile damage/damage with bows/crit/crit multi.

Here the jewels that I'm using at the moment:

As you can see there is a lot of room to upgrade here. ;)

Having fun with the build so far but just lvl 42:P I opted going shadow nodes first, just no crit stuff yet. It melts stuff :D
Do have a 5l ashrend, 6l lion and a 6l opus. No +1quiver yet.

I wonder if some nodes are skipped, perhaps some crit or w/e and go for lion eye jewel setup with claw nodes how that would pan out. I do have that jewel will give that a go when im lvl 90+
