Health and Mana globe alternative - photoshopped

not really photoshop but best i could do in MS paint

i'm finding screen "real estate" being hogged by the UI

i took out buttons for inventory and such because after a while of playing i learn the hot keys as i'm sure others do as well and think we should be able to toggle them out

i wish flask graphics weren't so big

the item description you removed from in game chat unless chat window is open...
can you do this for flasks at the bottom of the screen also?
it really sucks if i move my mouse too far then the description window pops up and obscures enemys

obvious but:
red = life
white = energy shield
blue = mana

old skool style is the best, no need this.
"This is too good for you, very powerful ! You want - You take"
Not really a fan... it frames the screen too much and I think on a 24" or bigger 16:9 screen it will be really hard to keep track of your mana/life

i'm running on a 52 inch. after my first version i had what you speak of.
i then made the bars wider. focused on the center of the screen and can see them fine.

lets not be nostalgic and admit those globes take up a lot of valuable screen space.

i hate it when there is an archer sitting under the UI shooting at me. especially when i take an arrow in the butt

I linked your thread in a similar one:

No orbabes? HA HA GET OUT OF HERE.

But yeah, I think the health and mana bars are too narrow and drawn out over too large an area. Too much eye movement to find the bar and then find the level in it.
Sorry for an incredibly silly post but I just have to... :p Some (rough) numbers:
Spoiler

Bars
24 * 678 = 16272px --> hp + energy bar
21 * 678 = 14238px --> mana bar
----------------------------------------------------------
16272 + 14238 = 30510px --> total for bars

Orbs
92 * 44 = 4098px --> bottom half of one orb
(46 * 46 * pi) / 2 ~= 3324px --> top half of one orb
----------------------------------------------------------
4098 + 3324 = 7422px --> total for one orb
----------------------------------------------------------
7422 * 2 = 14844px --> total for both orbs

Now before you go nuts I realize (and agree) that bars are a lot tidier and less likely to obscure a ranged mob. However I'm not sure they'd be easy enough to "read" from in combat even after you made them wider. I think players normally get a bit of a tunnel vision in combat, or maybe that's just me. :)

I can easily imagine a "Minimalistic UI", and maybe even other variations, offered as cash shop items though.
I dislike it; it means I have to look at multiple areas of the screen for my information. It's akin to my spacing out the words of this post so your eyes have to move a lot to find the information.

Example of why it's bad:

Current:

CURRENT HEALTH
367/509 (72%)

That quickly tells you your maximum health and your current health; you're pretty healthy, can survive for a little bit longer without healing.

Equivalent to your suggestion:
C
U
R
R
E
N
T

H
E
A
L
T
H

THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY SEVEN OUT OF FIVE HUNDRED AND NINE (SEVENTY-TWO PERCENT)

It's fine as it is.

That's a good thing. I WANT to be able to see my HP in my peripheral vision.
And here I was hoping someone else wanted seperate health orbs for chaos inoculation(Full blue orb) and the removal of the mana orb for blood magic.
