You can start 3 hours before the thing goes live when they take the servers down for patching.
I don't understand the purpose of new supporter packs for the League and not having them available at launch...
I just can't shake this feeling that GGG is biting off more than it can chew...
Love this game, love how you've transformed it into a cornerstone of the genre, but it's OK to slow down sometimes!

I'm hoping everything goes smooth and that you guys can take a breather!

Cheers from the antipodes!

One More Day...
1st - thank you GGG for the upgrade to our PoE experience

Anyone know what will be the patch size for Steam client update?
I'm kinda lost on is it 7GB or 3GB??

Thx

Can't wait to get exiled tonight!! :D

I think that removal of vaal pact from ES was sufficient. At the very least a sufficient starting point. Removing roughly 30% of overall ES value is awful.

But, no my main qualms are: Utterly destroying damage, while at the same time raising the shit out of boss health, and lowering density of popular maps.

I want a fast paced game. I dont want to be forced away from open maps, into shitty back tracking layouts, and then skipping the boss, because the reward vs risk/time investment isnt there.

But hey, thanks for playing.

ES definitely needed both changes unless life was to be buffed more. ES still has the capability of having multiple times more damage absorption than life which is a huge bonus in itself, let alone the free recharge it has when not being hit and the uniques and that give a bunch of energy shield even when being hit recently.

What do you mean by "utterly destroying damage"?

The game has never been particularly intense unless you make it intense. Totem/summon -based builds have always been extremely powerful, and I wouldn't call it intense or fast-paced to just be running around plopping down summons while doing virtually nothing.

Increasing boss health doesn't in itself slow down the game. Only if you're already tanking boss hits so that it's a skill-less endeavor would it make things slow-paced, and that would certainly be the case with many strong ES builds in the past. Extending the duration of encounters which consist of only a small percentage of overall time played does not change the pace of the game, it only extends the duration.

A FPS/MOBA/RTS/whatever that has matches set such that they last for more points doesn't make the game itself any slower paced, it just forces you to play it longer.

You seem to be confusing "I can't mindlessly kill everything in seconds" with "characters/enemies move and act slower and/or there's more dead time of walking around not doing anything" The backtracking point is a legitimate one, but there's always been maps with some backtracking, and not really something to complain about for this version in particular.
