Skill Reveal: Storm Burst

would like to see some actual melee skill for once somewhere: in a showcase, in a boss fight, in a reveal

all you show is 'spell' 'spell' 'spell' 'bow'..

for each melee skill out there (even including the pointless ones) there are 2-3 blue gems. it is no longer fun you know.

maybe do a 'reveal' and just remove the bottom left part of the tree with all the red gems noone cares about? you are already partway there so just push it and be over with it, ok?


as for the skill itself: all that is wrong with POE in one single package:

- effortless scalling (answer me this: how godly the damage will be when it can be augmented with BOTH conc effect and slower proj? is it sane to allow this kind of scaling?)
- bonkers initial damage
- faux-skill AOE-overlap
- CwC compatibility for no-mana-investment-needed spell spam (CwC was a MISTAKE, esp its lack of mana cost!)
- no mana cost whatsoever

you want everyone to play this skill? wouldnt making it interesting (not 'strong', but interesting) a better way to do it? or did you give up and no longer rely on 'interesting' but on the free-power giveaways to attract players?

i though 3.0 will change stuff. but this skill shows nothing is going to change really..

hint: root cause of many spell related balance issues is mana. channelling + cwc made mana (the speed bump for spell builds) pointless.
Please, add a channeled cold spell too!

Now to figure out how to do a "Channel When Damage Taken" support.

Though I'd honestly go for a "Channel While Moving" support. "Allows supported spell to be channeled while moving. Base movement speed is reduced by 15% while channeling. If player has not moved recently, increased base movement speed by 10-30%(based by level) for 1 second."

Something like this would be nice.

Looks cool... but all that graphical clutter already makes me vomit. Add 30+ mobs on top of you shooting their own crap to get the real picture of epileptic gameplay.

I'll stick to subpar melee, at least then I see what I'm doing, half of the time.
