GGG vs. Trading made easy
I'm a casual player. Trading in this game seems utterly futile. I do NOT want to go to a site that isn't GGG (given I obviously trust them enough to have their game on my computer). It's stupid.
Trades on the Forums here end as follows: That player isn't currently online . . . An example of an EASY fix would be how DDO's auction house just has an item from the seller, given the amt of time and MIN bid. I can't express how annoying trading seems for someone like me that logs in after work and can't get RNG to get off its high horse and gimme the goods. I get shitstacks of orbs and their virtually worthless unless you can get lucky and find someone that's actually in the game from the Forums. Last bumped on Apr 8, 2017, 8:43:44 AM

They (GGG) have dug themselves a big, black whole that it's pretty hard to get out of. With their left hand, they wave "we do not want trade to be too easy, because that would make trading even more mandatory than it is - and increase the gap between trading and non-trading players". With their right hand, they wave "let's make the API accessible to everyone, so that ALL items are able to be indexed by third party sites", which is pretty contradictory to what the left hand waves.
Now, they can't even BEGIN to change this, without a prison riot starting. If they were to make trade "harder", these item-flipping, trade-simulator players that can't put into enough grinding effort to do things themselves, would cry. Now they cry about the game being "too easy", but if they made trade "harder", they would cry about that. And no, let's not forget about the "ethical", self-handicapped group, that would raise havoc if they made trade even easier. "I want to find every item myself, which is impossible now that they made trade even easier, having to balance the drops thereafter". The big, black whole is real. There's NOTHING they can do, without making HUGE parts of the community unhappy. And that's the main reason nothing has happened. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you. Last edited by Phrazz#3529 on Apr 1, 2017, 4:47:10 PM

" ya pretty much. Its like quicksand, private indexers could scan the trade forums and list the items with any kind of search functions they want, so it was out there, and its either the ppl using them have massive advantage or you open the functionality to everyone and at least make it fair. So now we all have full search of all listed items, which is fair... whos willing to let go of that? I know Im not. We have it, and now it cant go back. If they give us something they cant take it away, so its not like they can try something, if its rly bad for the game they can take it back out, no, once its in its in and people will not accept removing it. They cant afford to do anything unless they are completely sure its the right thing to do or they could do extreme harm to the game that cannot be undone. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Trading in online games is an integral part of the game. This is a privilege that should be organized in the most effective way possible.
Global Action House in game is a very usefull tool, Making life easier, allow you to save time and nerves. There is no compulsion or need to use it. If someone wants to trade in a standard way, there is always a possibility, so I do not understand the persistent lack of AH and backwardness on this issue. Baby don't Vaal me, don't Vaal me, no more!

Yes, this problem should be solved some day. And the only solution is Auction House, not another set of half-measures.
I'm casual player too, I just want to play the game without need to use million tools like Procurement, Aquisition, TradeMacro, poe.trade, poeprices.info, poe.ninja and so on. I don't want to exit a map every time when someone want to buy my stuff. I don't want to spend literally hours in order to buy some common shit and only see seller offline, AFK, in other league, simply ignoring you or trying to scam. Just make this f.ing Auction House, like in WoW, finally! Last edited by fwd#2278 on Apr 1, 2017, 5:21:43 PM

I don't support a full AH but I do support one for just maps, currency and other consumables like frags.

" ya for sure man, any fixed item for fixed item trade I think we need an instant buyout ah. Want to price fix a certain currency by listing it cheap then not selling? Bad luck, if you list it then it can be bought, fuck you, have a nice day. Who wants to sit around trying to trade orbs for orbs for half an hour? Who wants to go out right now and buy 30 essences of a specific type? Its an equivalent trade, fixed item for fixed item, theres no haggle, theres no debate, theres a going market rate and its just making it worse by having this whishy washy open to price fixing bullshit market haggle system that does however make sense for actual rare gear etc thats a lot harder to price fix and bs around with. I feel like they should make an instant AH for currency, maps, frags, essences, leaguestones etc. Then bring the xyz search into the game, shut down xyz, shut down the public flow of listings that indexers can get their hands on, just keep it all in the game. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

I'm actually very happy with the current situation of trade in POE. I don't want any auction house.

It is hard for me to imagine who would be happy about the lack of AH. Probably just a scammer's only.
