PLEASE READ: Forum/Beta Invite News
Hey Guys,
- account activated - in waiting position for beta invite :) |
|
I think the beta invite system is a little dumb. It shouldn't be a random invite to any account, especially when a guy wins a beta key from the lottery system who visited the website one time, never posted on the forums, and hasnt visited since he made the account a month ago.
Dont want to sound like a bitch but its frustrating watching people who arent going to test this game win the lottery. Thoughts? |

@up well I partially agree with what you stated, however the community also needs to understand what the dev part needs to take care off. IF they get too many testers it may result in various difficulties like server instability or simply problems with recieving all the feedback they get. As a dev myself, I'd say that it is better to invite slowly but steady rather than just allow the hordes to access freely. I'm sad myself for not recieving a key yet, but there's not much I can do about it. We just need to wait patiently and hope for the best.

Hey, Chris? The cattle coming through this forum mooing about how much they want beta keys are annoying, yes.
But the whole fact that you completely didn't anticipate the response and have little idea what to do with them all? Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's a mistake on your part bro. Elo !! Polska gwardia to jest TO !

"I appreciate your comment, but you didnt quite get what i was saying. Im not saying to let extra people in, but to change the way beta invites are selected every 35 minutes automatically putting people who havent been online for more than a week at the end. its simply frustrating when you see that XXcumXXsexXX wins the random lottery when he made an account june 3rd posted nothing and hasnt been active sense june 3rd. Do you understand what im saying? perhaps players whove been online in the last week could get moved in front. I doubt that would be hard to impliment and it would make a lot of users happy. |

A good example would be DiamondSlicer. he hasnt logged in since he made his account 2 months ago. while i may have made my account recently, i am legitimately interested in playing as well as testing this new free to play action rpg. i doubt he even knows its in beta or will use his accout. The method i imagine would keep the random selection every 35 minutes, but put players who havent been active for a week at the end of the queue. if they relog they can go back up.

An example of another aspect would be muuuuu, one of the recent lottery winners. he created his account in may, but has not been active since mid July. He also has never made a forum post, which suggests he has little interest in the development of this game. It is very likely that he is not even aware of his beta access and has moved on with his life.
|
|
another supporting example would be xxButtdick69xx who was awarded a beta key when his only activity on the server was trolling and begging for a beta key on multiple occasions. Nothing is quite as frustrating as a child crying for candy and getting it awarded by the careless parent.

Worst of all, an account which i dont recall the name of was awarded his beta key, but his only forum posts were things like "This game better be good and not a waste of time" or "This spell system is stupid in comparison to diablo" These type of people completely miss the point of this entire event. The beta isnt a finished game! Hes expecting too much from an unfinished indie game that is trying something risky by making a free to play game. He also forgets that the objective is to test and not to play. He will likely play it for a day, complain that its bad or unfinished and then never log in again.

Anyone wishing to discuss the system with me should read my above posts for information before posting. I would be happy to hear your thoughts otherwise.
