You know as well as I do that devs don't even look at this thread unless it's reported. Most probably don't even know it exists.

Which then calls to attention the fact that anyone spending most of their PoE forum time here or in off-topic in general probably isn't filling the role expected of a PoE VP.

*shrug*

Ah, the Squealer of Wraeclast couldn't resist the bait. Well, I'll break my two years or so of ignoring you to clarify some things:

VP wasn't taken from me; I told Rachel to take it off my profile, rather than be shackled by it. I don't need a pretty border or a fancy title to do what I've done long before and since I was invited to VP (and, yeah, I do post outside of OT). Now, however, I won't have to watch my P's & Q's in OT, where Support doesn't tread... unless it's reported.

It was pointed out that a post of yours in another thread pretty much told the whole story; you know, the post you recently edited at the prompting of your friends in Support? Sure looks like you dropped a dime on me for "conduct unbecoming," like a schoolyard tattletale running to teacher:

"
As for Ray...well, he's not acting very Valued these days. I'm hardly the first to notice it. Nor the most important.

Now, how would you know about that? I doubt Support divulges information about such matters except in direct response to a report. The fact that Rachel contacted me two days after your post is also convenient timing.

So, I'm still me, and you... You're what you've become.

I like who I am MUCH better. Be ignoring ya. =^[.]^=

Are you directly connected to the scientific research community such that you have ongoing knowledge of what is happening in the community?

To that particular community, no.

Or are you, like many of us, self taught amateurs, doing internet research
There was a time when such dubious scientific behavior was news, and the media reported both sides. There's no need to research the basics. Imagine ten years from now, discussing the election of Trump vs Hillary. The person who wasn't there or didn't pay attention during the time frame may not know about the Russian meddling scandal, but you, as someone who did pay attention, wouldn't really need to research it, despite your not being directly connected with Trump or Hillary's campaign.

What I have seen before, is that when I take the time to put up detailed supporting information with links, people ignore those entirely and go after something different in my post. Hence, I no longer do the research for those too lazy to do it themselves.

If you are so inclined - tree ring data and temperature station record logs are a good place to start looking for information that pro-climate change people have altered, deleted or badly taken data out of context (and had proven to do so, when someone got ahold of the data that they wouldn't share).

on what interests us? What makes you particularly qualified and worth believing in this topic?
There is no authority in charge of the truth. I do not ask for people to believe what I am saying. I am questioning their unquestioning belief of others on matters of science. Science should not be a religion unto itself.

Your post seems to implicate all scientific research into climate change as fraudulent.
Did I say all? Did I say most, or 65.27%?

Is all of the NASA research fraudulent?

Did I say it was? What remarks in my recent posts made you think that?

Conversely, that raises a great example of what I am saying - politics interfering with science.

Someone who isn't involved with NASA probably doesn't see them as a political organization. They are very political. The politics that concern them the most have almost nothing to do with the politics most people are worried about. The politics that concern them the most are the ones determining where the money and focus will be. Anyone who has worked at the decision making level of a very large company would instinctively know that.

I know people at NASA who were directly involved with the Challenger decision https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Shuttle_Challenger_disaster and
had they been listened to, the disaster would never have happened.

The science was there, the data was there, but the political camp in power in NASA at the time didn't like the answer, so they went ahead and launched. FWIW, there's another critical reason the Challenger exploded that isn't listed on the wiki page, but was reported to NASA management by more than one NASA expert prior to the launch. It's something that someone with a modicum of relevant scientific or engineering background could have guessed at, and suggested tests. The tests would (and did) come back confirming suspicions, but the decision to keep with the launch schedule was made anyway.

Politics killed that crew.

Yup, that sounds like the Squealer of Wraeclast.

Don't worry though, you will ALWAYS be more important to the forum than the Squealer of Wraeclast. =^[.]~=
Remember when I won a screenshot contest and made everyone butt-hurt? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
