Which is an absolute monarchy. Apparently the Venezuelan model of government is even more regressive than something more regressive than 14th century England.

It's actually best kind of government. All democracies will fail. Fall into public and private looting of Treasury. Needs a king to leave stable country to his progeny

I wouldn't say it died, actually. Divorced? Imprisoned? We're still a republic sometimes on some things. For example, the 2016 election showed we can upset the establishment to some degree, even if we can't choose our own nominees in the primaries... And of course, the media narrative since then has been nonstop brainwashing that we didn't have a choice. Perhaps the most apt description is that the US can still be a republic when TPTB drop the ball.

Wraeclastian: Visit Germany and Sweden, it would change your mind. Everyday life here is not terrorism every day, as the far right wants you to think, they invent a lot. And some "shitty" countries are "shitty" because of the US and/or the EU(Exploitation of resources incl. human work, Exports of cheap products and destruction of regional production e.g.).

If you live somewhere in the province of the US or Eastern Europe, you simply have not experienced living in a modern society.
