Screenshot of 0.9.6 Quest/Waypoint screen

Wow, thats impressive. Very nicely done devs.

I like how it also helps immerse people in the world, being able to see how things are actually connected.
I also see that there is a different icon now to add passive skill points O_O
Hopefully they changed the button for leveling gems as well. That's easily a more frequently asked question than "where's oak?".
Urist McDwarfy has been happy lately. He admired an exceptional ARPG recently. He took joy in slaughter lately. He has been attacked by the dead recently.

Since its only 'relevant' on your very first run, it may not be such a big thing, but:

I'd liked to have the situation, that you must explore the world around you to know whats going on - so I would prefer a compass-like questhelp as long as you havent found the waypoints once. (so that you not see all the bindings between the areas at your 1. attempt - can stay activated for the other difficulties, and maybe also for the next chars (just undecided))

Will give more feedback with my impressions on how it really works; after patching.

i can not agree any more despite of devs' efforts for taking their time into this feature. Because this is done and developed mainly for the newbies' frequently asked "where is x ?" questions. But there comes the hidden truth behind the curtain.

This feature is the backstabber of explorations and fun dramatically. Although it looks cool, can not stand against the big drawback of this feature sadly.

Quoted from news post:

One of the best new features in the 0.9.6 patch is the upgraded Quest/Waypoint screen. As Wraeclast is explored, areas appear on this map. A list of active and completed quests is shown, and the correct direction to travel is indicated for the next objective in each quest. This should make it very easy for players to track where they need to go to complete their objectives. The screen also doubles as a waypoint screen, allowing the user to select a travel destination in a much more visual manner than before.

looks very cool. i approve
