but most people play ranged - because it is the sensible thing to do given that it is THE BEST way to play this game - and you cannot piss them off. congrats, this is what happens when you let stupid things persist for too long.


Melee and ranged end game clear with remarkable gear is about the same with melee potentially coming out ahead.

Base damage buffs to melee weapons will go A LONG way to bridge the supposed gap.


are you sure? because i simply do not believe that.

what will clear merc dried lake quicker? ranged spellcaster/archer or melee guy? merc dried lake is nice test because it nicely simulate red maps with bonkers gear. who has higher chance of dying? who will clear faster? who can faster reach the 'ebough' damage level?

it is a simple metric of damage×target hit. ranged archer with sub 1ex budget will run circles around melee. mostly because melee has to gear for defences as well. archers can skip most of it.

at the top end both have similar defences but aoe clear of ranged is simply superior


this change will change absolutelly nothing.. while avoiding real issues and creating yet another problems.

current situation is most likely irreversible. ranged were superior for too long and it is now 'standard' that cannot be changes without riots.

ps. ggg is no longer indie. it is nice trick to exploit their indie past so they can be excused. but it simply is no longer true

At T16 maps which is the highest form of content other than event bosses - end game melee will perform as well if not better than end game ranged.

I don't keep track of the meta, but what is the fastest time a ranged build can full clear any T16 map?

Hi and happy new year,

please don't forget to improve the global performance of the game/servers ! I have never seen so much problems at the moment (playing for 4 years !) : many disconnexions, many game rip with fatal error...
Adding a lot of content is nice of course but stabilize this game please !
not even your content teasers have any content LOL

just a bunch of blablabla is all I read there.

face it, people, any new league is just gonna have a different buff over the monsters' heads or a different kind of strongbox. you enable ggg to get away with being lazy and uncreative. this game always will be "what could have been" and nothing more. the foundations are undeniably great. running around and smashing monsters is as good as it's gonna get. only... that becomes boring after a while if there is no larger purpose, nothing PERMANENT. leaves you feeling you wasted a lot of time for nothing.

PS: I'm gonna post a mock splash predicting the new expansion sometime, that should be fun to make. teaser: it's gonna have new uniques. *roll*
since I have no hope for significant game design improvements in this game I am officially done with Path of Exile. done for good

Please, really, please make act 3 short, its getting a tone of a time finish it on 3 lv of difficulties.
