i get gibbed if i dont crit for a few strikes and get surrounded by mobs. the build is entirely depeendan on critting. some of my gems are still 17ish level so ill give it a bit.

yes thats true. hmm not sure how to help players in that part of the transition phase. i guess if you dont use controlled destruction it should be fairly easy to get 95% crit

most of my problem was not having the bonus from the cast on critical strike. quite the bonus at +20% crit for quality. still cant figure out how to run 3x33% on that mana pool tho?

i use enlighten 3 with my blasphemy - AM - ele weakness and a seperate 35% aura

Would a Rat's Nest be good here? It's got everything we need in crit, movespeed and attackspeed. Or is the energy shield too necessary from the helm. Evasion is still good since we're Trickster but I don't know how much evasion is necessary to really make that useful. I'm also considering dropping Vitality for Grace, though doing so means I pretty much can't cast anything so everything has to be cwdt.

es is too important from helm. i think a decent aura setup would be grace - bloodmagic (possibly enlighten) and run blasphemy AM ele weakness and discipline on mana (with enlighten)

Hi I would like to know why you take the note Arcane Vision as it gives +30 to accuracy and increased light radius as per energy shield. Is accuracy important as the hits can not be evaded as per the dagger or am I missing something.

Being on low life means you will have poor light radius (noticeable indoors) and arcane vision can prevent that from being a problem. (It can also be easier to tell when you're taking damage if you're unused to ES builds)

To OP, I've had to combine your guide with a non-Shav's LL generic guide but I just made the switch into Shield Charge CoC Vortex on a 5L (so no Controlled Destruction) and I was surprised how nice and consistent it felt (with Diamond up). Thanks for this guide as a great template to follow and for showcasing the Pain Attunement and CoC more spell damage interaction with ignites caused by Pyre Vortex.
I'm actually liking using Cyclone instead of Shield Charge on my CoC setup. The biggest problem I was having with Shield Charge was being stun locked and unable to proc anything. Cyclone has innate stun immunity so that pretty much solves that problem. Then I can use the excess gem slots for a WB-FA-Fortify which is really nice speed with all of the attack speed stacking this build has.

If you don't have a level 3 enlighten, you can alternatively pick up Sovereignty for 4 points. It's worth about 10-15% increased ES from the increased effectiveness of Discipline.

I've started using
along with Swift Killer instead of Patient Reaper. Legacy BD offer the same additional regen as the conditional Patient Killer, but with a much much better uptime (frenzy charge duration, rather than recently) along with MORE damage, and inc attack speed. Granted, non legacy blood dance is 0.5% per charge, but that's still another 2% regen. Having 1.1k regen is nice. Another trick you can pull is weapon swap to Brightbeak + Leafspring for lab running which bumps you to 1500 regen @ 8k es, which is extremely forgiving through all traps.
@BeerPact
Hi, i dont think my es regent will be that great without the ring but with the vitality, so can u tell me, which aura can replace vitality?
can u post what passive jewels ur using?
I went for Sovereignty: 21 BM (vitality + AA), 3 curse in a Heretic's Veil + enlighten4 (+Chains) + Disc aura (not linked). Did a lot of testing around ... I prefer chains too much to pass it (for now at least), i might even switch to enfeeble, chains gives me enough room to manouver around bosses/reset fights + it kinda boosts my dps with the duration of ignite. Char name is "painandcoc" if you wanna get some ideeas for your setups. Sadly "wasting" points in to Sovereignty did take away 4 points. Will reach 10k+ ES at 90.

Plans. I should be switching to enfeeble as my third curse as I am switching to t14+. On the other hand having a +curse ammy I could drop the curse cluster all together and sovereignty for a 8 skill point bonus wich could go in damage/defence. I wonder if it's worth it to drop the QoL of a third defensive curse provides. I could drop Conqueror's Efficiency allso ... and reach 12k-ish ES and get Explosive Impact cluster for 55% Fire dmg + 5% aoe.

What do you guys think? Should I keep this setup? Builds feels great, just wanna fine tune it.

Your build looks so awesome. Just a small question. How do you trigger your EE. You said that you use shield charge to trigger it... But i don't understand how can shield charge do elemental damage. Can you please explain it to me xD. I am kind of new to this game
You shield charge dealing a small ammount of phys dmg + the added elemental dmg from the dagger(or ring/ammy). We do fire dmg so we need reduced fire resist so we need to hit with cold or lightning dmg to proc the EE ... BUT cold will be transformed in to fire dmg anyway(tested it myself) ... so only added dmg for this build can be lightning dmg. So ... after shield charge: you hit the mob EE procs and you will read on the monster - resistant to lighting/vulnerable to cold/vulnerable to fire. Your shield charge will crit and cast on crit will proc our Vortex dealing fire dmg, reseting the EE BUT the burning dot will allrdy tick in with the initial resists. Every shield charge will restart the whole process.
