Hey

I'm just leveling with this at the moment and not sure about something in the guide:

"Use Firestorm/Spark/Spell Totem for early stage. Only use Flameblast after you have got the Elemental Proliferation support gem (around late A4 Normal to A1 Cruel). After that everything should run smoothly."

I just got Prolif and I'm getting 0 ignites with Flameblast or even Firestorm. What's the point in that, to swap to Flameblast when I get Prolif? I see that Chance to Ignite is once of the main gems with FB, so should I only swap to FB when I get Chance to Ignite? I dont understand.. FB is super costly on mana and extremely slow to cast.

Thanks.

Anyone?
:(

In order to ignite you need to take those ignite nodes from tree and have Shaper of Desolation Ascendancy from Elementalist.

Don't worry, to be honest until A4 Merciless it's better to use Firestorm, get to lvl 70-75, equip the Atziri's sceptre and once that you'll be on faceroll, trust me. Flameblast without enough Cast speed is too slow at start.

I'm thinking of doing this build on Legacy, mostly because I wanna kill Shaper (for the first time) and I haven't yet. Did Uber and all Guardians on an EA Pathfinder when the Atlas came out and since then I was pretty inactive. It's either this or Ngamahu Raider/VSpark Inquisitor, which are annoying to gear up.

OMG AOE nerfs! This build is so ded! :P

I'm pumped to play on Friday. My friend is going to be doing a wild strike build so.....everything is gonna be on fire permanently. Should be pretty toasty!

Thanks again for the build write up and infos. I'll be sure to keep an eye out here and attempt to contribute once Legacy League starts up. I will probably be streaming a bunch the first few days and will maybe make a video or two once I'm actually accustomed to playing it and all that jazz. So some videos can be on the first page with 2.6 next to them :P

Look forward to your show. :D
I'm going to take the plunge and make this my first 2.6 build as a starter and to push as far as I can.

I've tried it in the past but I always had the issue of Flameblast never felt stronger than Firestorm, especially when you first get it in the late 30s. It's really slow to cast, and since you're just standing there channeling it, you're really prone to dying.

Any suggestions on what you guys do when leveling Flameblast builds?

Don't use Flameblast.

Use Firestorm and try to switch to Flameblast when you get Proliferation from ascendancy. If Flameblast feels clunky, just switch back to Firestorm. Try to switch to Flameblast when you get enough cast speed. Eventually Flameblast outperforms Firestorm. The goal is to almost instantly cast 3-stack Flameblast which kills trash mobs in high tier maps.

Easy enough, thanks a lot for your recommendation.

As far as I remember also, you cannot get Eleron rings til master lvl 4. Is Firestorm still manageable without it? I'll probably just have to run 2 mana pots to sustain it?

It is manageable yes (and Elreon sells the -manacost ring at level 4, correct).
Cool, looking forward to giving this build a proper run.
The tree update doesn't touch the build lol.
Evening!

Looks like this build is still good to go in 2.6 based on the recent information.

Can anyone compare this to a vortex trapper witch? I am a pretty solid noob and I feel that my vortex trapper is kinda weak and while I have awesome dmg, my 5-6k ES pool is not very impressive at keeping me alive.

Thinking about going this route after the update... I have a 700ES vaal regalia and the weapon already.
Edit, nevermind
