R.I.P. [2.6] Explosive Arrow - Elementalist Build Guide (multi class + version, in depth theory)

Prices will only rise so now is the time.
They go for 3ex each in Standard. :)

Interesting builds and theory, i like your tree on the grand spectrum berserker.
Was wondering what you thought about an off hand high fire/spell damage staff with vaal rf usual support gems + chance to ignite. I might try respeccing my maruader in standard.

Small update from my side - I've added about 270 hp/s to my regen and the build feels great now. What I did was switch from Devotion (+two damage nodes) and pathed over Diamond Skin to Warrior's Blood and Heart of the Warrior. That + marble amulet with 1.6 regen added another 3.4% regen, pushing my total regen with golems active to 820hp/s (7.7k life). With Vitality I get another 150 or so, but I'm running AA instead. I think that's a decent middle ground without travelling all the way down to duelist so I'll likely leave it like this.

I'm still trying to get a marble amulet with fire damage % and an opal ring with same mod but because they're suffixes it's hard to also get life + some dex on them. I could easily get rings without resists because I'm overcapped for ele weakness but I really hate switching gear around. That was part of the reason that I pathed over resist nodes, to make room for future jewelry.

All in all, quite happy with how the build is evolving - what can I say, I'm a huge fan of sustain.

Current version of my tree at 94 (next level will go to a 4% health node, pushing my health near 7900):

I also killed my first guardian today - (corrupted) Phoenix. It took a bit due to lack of ignite but I can honestly say that it's a very easy fight for a ranged build, especially if you got golems or other distractions (decoy totem etc). Blink arrow also highly recommended.

Thanks of course go to Greengroove for his different versions of the trees which I used as reference.

Thank you for this build. It was close enough to the searing touch build i was following that just got removed. And I was seeking somewhere to use this bow so it is perfect.
When righteousness falters
And chaos threatens to prevail
I take on a physical body
And manifest myself on earth.

Interesting. To be honest I am not familiar with that skill. From what I gather the base spell damage scales of base life / energy shield. The grand spectrum tree provides a lot of elemental damage and the Berserker has nice leech and damage. However there might be better ways to do it. I would have to think about it and consult with my friend Lucifer.

From the top of my head I think it could be good (in terms of damage) if I compare the damage of EA with Vaal RF. But I am not familiar with the mechanic of the skill. Ea is a spam-able skill so it can leech life (relatively) reliably when we use Less duration. You need to "produce" damage whenever you get hit in order to leech life. The other thing to consider is that Vaal RF is a relative (entire screen blast) close proximity skill while with EA you can off-screen the enemy.

I am sure this thing could be fun. Maybe something to try. I think so long as you have those jewels you can just throw Vaal RF in the quill rain just to test quickly. I am not sure how would it work if you are not on full life tho. You can use Doedre's flask to proc "Cloaked in savagery" You would have to change the support gems and skills and get a second skill to replenish charges.

@Bawtzki

Congrats on the "Trophy"! How long did it take you? Was it deathless?

What is your total regen now with Sulphur up?

I would personally rather go in the Templar outer area on the left side of the tree and try to get the life and jewel nodes instead the Marauder area. But if it works for you that's great. The Marauder area provides nice elemental resistances.

In the end there is a lot of ways to do it and they all work just fine.

Hopefully I can switch to Grand spectrum soon. I will need a lot of regrets, and some new gloves. But at least I have the 12 Jewels ready. :)

@spalek83

You are welcome. How come the guide got removed? Hope you will enjoy EA.

I'm not using Sulphur, my flask setup is actually very basic - 2x seething, 2x quicksilver (gotta go fast), 1x ruby. I'll try to fit a sulphur in instead of a quicksilver and report back with the numbers.

I don't know how long the fight took, 2-3 mins? I had pretty nasty mods on it and it was my first real attempt (the only previous one was with a No Regen mod which predictably didn't end that well) without much prior knowledge so I was playing it safe. It was deathless though, as I said, mechanically it's a very simple fight and the boss can easily be kited around the small arena.
Nice.

Try to drop the ruby flask for the Sulphur and then check you regen. ;)

Thanks for your answer greengrove i tried it in standard with a 6l staff (crafted 90 spell dmg on it nothing else)
dunno if i missed the proc since i was using 3 flasks (leg vessel of vink, doedres elixer and anti shock flask) didnt do much. Worked better with my cospris malice assassin. Its def a viable boss killer, Someone took down phoenix with one shot, with a high es, grand spectrum assassin. For this kind of build burning ea is still plenty fast.

1130. Not bad at all.

I'm currently in the process of acquiring grand spectrums, looking forward to testing that version. Do you think it's worth going for 12 or is 11 enough?
Well I went for the version with 12 jewels. I lost about 1k life. Damage is nuts but reflect is now actually a problem. For general mapping id say the 11 jewel is PLENTY. It has more life too. At this point I would only suggest the 12 jewel tree if you actually higher level. maybe 97+.

I did change my gear a bit too. I have to use the essence worm now cause ele reflect. I got myself some rare gloves as I really don't need more damage from Winds of change. Otherwise those gloves are basically shit if you have no use for the projectile damage roll. I use gmp now with less duration (for mapping) and the quiver with corrupted leech implicit.

I have less crit now as well. That is not really a problem. I am even considering going RT. That would be nice as you can apply the stacks reliably and would make enfeeble maps a lot nicer to play.

I just started testing but I think I may end up respeking to the 11 jewel tree myself.
