R.I.P. [2.6] Explosive Arrow - Elementalist Build Guide (multi class + version, in depth theory)

Loving the build boss. Going real nice.

For single target im finding it hard. Ive got a 6L with EA, Empower level 3, Conc, Fire Pen, Chance to ignite, Less Duration. And the damage on my GMP is almost the same. For GMP its the same just swapped Conc for GMP.

Sometimes I will get a good burn on a boss with my single target. But other times nothing. When I dont hit that nice burn its slower than my GMP. Its more often that I could kill the boss with my GMP faster.

Im thinking that its my crit chance? would it be worth it to try and spec into some crit chance?

Im also using a Additional arrow on my single target quiver and still its shit.

Any ideas what im doing wrong?

@nitetimehell: If you play SC you can definitely get better jewels. Lose the life and go full offensive double dip damage with proj damage and fire damage. I list the jewel mods important first. So follow that list.

Use ea lvl 21 on the single target set up! This is the reason why you do more damage with gmp setup.

In the single target setup you can use slower projectiles instead of less duration. That MAY help stack more arrows in boss.

We use Elemental overload so crit only serves to get that buff up. A 10% should be reliable enough. You can get some crit chance on jewels as extra if you want but it's not going to make a big difference.

After that you can only try to get empower lvl 4. You could also try and go for 11/12 grand spectrum jewels, but last time I checked they seemed a bit too expensive. That's all i can think of.




@Bulwix257: Well there's a lot that you can do. Of course get Quill linked. You should probably go for vaal pact and get Cloaked in savagery ascendancy. But I see your tree is very different from what I suggest. This is my tree

- Get jewels!
- Get ngamahu tiki
- Drop Wyrmsign gloves.
- If you have vaal pact you (potentially) don't need essence worm, and can get more life / offense.
- Try get some opal ring and use essence on it (later on).
- At least buy a corrupted 6 link.
- You can use a rare helmet instead of Devoto so you get more life.
- Use leather belt and upgrade gear in general optionally you can also use a Doryani's invitation fire belt if you play sc and you feel you have enough life.

I'm not sure what to say about the tree. If you want to respec to the other tree you would need many regrets. But it's Vaal pact in conjunction with Cloak of savagery ascendancy point that really sets the Berserker apart. the leech is awesome (insane) and it allows you to do ele reflect maps. On the down side you don't have regen and you rely on leech to stay alive. If you don't mind the reflect thing (death) then your current tree probably has more damage.

Try to do as many things as you can from the list, think about vaal pact and all that. Then see how it goes and lmk.

I agree but your jewels only have like 1-2 good damage stats. There is a lot of room for improvement in terms of damage. I was running with 8k life at the very end with top gear. But at first I only had about 7.6k and it was ok.

I would only keep Carrion solace and cataclysm vessel. On the others you could go for more damage mods. Like 2 top damage mods and two others that you can use, but not the first choice. Now if you are HC then it's a different story. You could also try crafting blue jewels. You can literally get better magic jewels than some of your rares for 5c.

Just had a few questions. I just started Merc and I am having trouble with resists. What do you suggest? What do you suggest as a budget chest piece before investing in kaoms?

Also why do you use Flame Golem instead of Ice or Lightning to proc EE?
I just put flame golem into my link and it seems like I never see my stone golem anymore, is that just due the level of CWDT?

Get tabula rasa and a rare quiver with resists and life. Focus on resist on rings as well. Optionally you can try and get a 6 link corrupted chest with the colors you need. If you already linked the bow you can also try and use Belly of the beast or Carcass jack. I think a corrupted chest is best cause it has a bit of stats and 6 link. Of course you need a Devoto's devotion for the DEX!

We proc EE with Explosive arrow and Frenzy. The fire golem provides more damage in conjunction with "Liege of primordial". You probably don't see the stone golem cause of cwdt level. Cwdt gem should be level 20 or even 21 if your golems are lvl 21.

If you are not sure how ee is applied (works) go to a safe zone and practice by shooting with skills with no damage just to see how the EE works. hover over monsters to see effects on top of screen. Check before and after explosion.
