R.I.P. [2.6] Explosive Arrow - Elementalist Build Guide (multi class + version, in depth theory)
I'm running a 5L Quill Rain and just happened to get a +1 Rearguard. I took LMP out to see how the build handles with only 2 projectiles and it was pretty decent, now I'm wondering what should I use to fill that link. Currently have Explosive Arrow, Fire Penetration, Slower Projectiles and Elemental Focus. Maybe Less Duration? Empower? Faster Attacks?

GZ for +1. Yes if you have prolif. you can get away with only 2 arrows. Personally I still like to have more arrows but if it works for you that's great.
Less duration or Empower or conc. effect. Less duration will feel much better in general but conc. effect will give much more damage. Ultimately Empower but I'm not sure what level you need it to be to beat conc. effect. I would personally only use ele. Focus on immune to status ailments maps. Otherwise chance to ignite. Get a Sulphur flask and use it! gl. |

My gear is pretty sexy overall and hard to upgrade at this point (other than a +1 quiver or some minor life/resist, and enchant on glove) Might upgrade to grand spectrum jewels and go from 10k hp to 8k/7.5k HPish but not sure if I already do enough damage ;V Last edited by RagnarokChu#4426 on Oct 29, 2016, 5:41:16 PM

" An upgrade is using Devoto,Ngamahu Tiki,Rearguard and still have resist capped. |
|
" " @RagnarokChu: The gear is pretty nice. You also need to enchant boots before gloves. Glove enchants are very underwhelming, safe from the 2 good ones. You could consider Doriani's invitation but the belt u use is quite nice too. The Ngamahu tiki could be an upgrade but your amulet is actually ok-ish too. The Ngamahu tiki can be better tho. I believe you can still enchant the helm and probably jewelry too. As for Grand spectrum do it only if you want to... Like you said the damage should be fine now. You should be able to do any content. So if you want then go ahead and invest in the jewels. You can even get some armour ones to get u started. see the minimum recommended in the thread. @hupple: I was using Rearguard in the beginning. But a rare quiver like that is actually better. It will allow to use 2x Opal rings and thus provide ~30% increased damage compared to rearguard. |

" I manage to use devoto, rearguard, Ngamahu Tiki, 2 opal rings and still have resist over capped (some resists are from jewels). I am not using doryani or winds of change though, winds of change reduce movement speed which I don't like. For doryani, leech can from boot enchant and I would like to have 130+ life from belt instead of 30 fire damage. |
|
" Yeah Doriani's would be nice but it's hard for me to give up HP ;V, I'm keeping my jewelry/helm unchanged since if I swap out gear I need to keep the affix open. I need dex on the amulet so I can run a rare helmet for the +100 HP. I'm trading a bit of damage (around 30-40%ish) for 150+ more base HP and resists. |

@RagnarokChu & hupple: That is fine, so long you are happy with the build. I merely gave you some options. EA has many viable options and it's strong enough so we can have different set ups. They should all work just fine.
In fact if you have good gear you can easily just run with EA lvl 19 gem and still clear high maps without much trouble. |
|
" Just seeing math wise from different setups, 120 life vs damage from the doryani's belt is important. Normally it's worth it since I have like 10k HP but this monster damage this patch. Hard to do HP breakpoints since the meta right now is try to stuff as much HP without getting one shotted. |

If you play HC by all means just use all rare gear. In fact maybe use a rare instead of Devoto's for the helm slot. I am on SC and I have 7.9k life right now. I can get 1 shot but I rarely do. Sometimes I can go in a map, knowing the risk. I don't care to level my character any further. If I wanted too I could go for 97 for sure. Any further passives would not make a big impact on the performance.
Doryani's invitation is a very cheap belt that gives damage, armour and a decent amount of resists. The leech is minor but with a Grand spectrum set up can be nice to have in a no regen map. When in early map levels that damage can be a good boost. If we already have Kaom's heart we have more than enough life to do mid tier maps reliably. For the endgame and HC a leather belt will be much better of course. My current work in progress project: Tomorrow new video on Youtube. I already ran Hydra, Chimera and the Minotaur. I'll make videos of that too. I am not touching the Phoenix. Although I'm sure I could do it I just don't want to. Didn't do Shaper yet but I'll run at least 2 maps someday soon. |
