Wow, first time looking through the forums as a new player and there's already scam and hack problems. I guess this game is really popular.
Your idea on the other thread suggests to implement an email/phone verification if you're account is accessed on a different IP address. I guess this is a good idea because if the IP address is different from your initial login the hacker would have to go through the email/phone verification. I'd like to suggest another security method if that would help. I see some games that have a PIN security system which is where as soon as you login into the game and before managing your character/s you are prompted to input a PIN code for your account. I don't know if it's easy for you guys to implement this method into the game but I think it would help massively. |

i quited this game mid january came came early june just to find out my acc was gonne... NOW i quited abt 1 month be4 the hackers got my pw somehow. i dun open any spam emails or anything that could put a spyware on my PC. my pw is different for any game, my FB is also diff my gmail acc is diff than my hotmail acc.. and my PoE acc has a pw so long i kinda had to put a sticker on my screen ( phisical sticker, incase u're dumb enough to not understand) i live with my GF, prtty sure she didnt hack me. NOW explain me why i got hacked?... Ur sick theory that every1 as d-laod some sorth of hack like thing to have free sht ingame is stupid. Ur theory that every1 got the same malware/spyware/ what the fuck ever is retardedly STUPID. IT WAS UR SECURITY PROBLEM, DONT U EVER BLAME PLAYERS FOR UR SHTY MISTAKES, I know it's a game i know u guys want money i understand it's 2 risky to rollback/recover items but NEVER CALL UR PLAYERS STUPID OR TELL THEM IT'S THEIR FOULT THEY GET HACKER WHEN 90% OF THE IT ISNT. THX. GET FUCKED.

" The lack of education in this post just gave me cancer. Almost all major email providers support authentication apps available on smart phones(for example, Google Authenticaor). Use it. It's free. By setting up the app to your email, you are essentially setting up an authenticator for POE. In addition, set up all available security features for your email. This will take you 20 minutes. There are several checks for you to set up. One of them which is probably the most important (aside from the free authenticator app) is blocking all non-approved devices from accessing your email account. One by one set up your own PC, work PC, smart phone...wherever YOU access your email from a private device. Never access your email from a friends, family members, or public computer. When you have all of these set up, and get hacked again, then make a big stink about it. Until you take these simple precautions...yes, it WAS your fault. GGG rocks! |

my question is...was this forum ever hacked into,if yes,then that could be a reason how they got some of the accounts if not then i don t know how they managed.

-Revived a mail with "FREE EPIX FOR POE/DIBLO3/PENISKINGDOM. -A gullible moron clicks it and gets owned. When a banker jumps out of a window, jump after him, that's where the money is.

Use an entire sentence as a password. Think of some sort of arbitrary phrase you can remember, and use that as a password. Almost nobody uses passwords like that and they use something like uberl33t123, and think that is a safe password. Guess what? The keylogger on your PC is looking for passwords like uberl33t123. You type something like that and its a dead giveaway that its a password.
I've never been hacked on any game, ever. Because I use sentences for passwords. Nor do I ever install shady programs on my PC from some shady website. I have to get a verification email EVERY single day, because they implemented an authenticator as the last line of defense for the retards who can't make good passwords, and use basic common sense on the internet. I hope they at least give me the option to disable that feature in the future, because it gets really annoying. Oh and anyone that cheats deserves to get hacked, and I hope they were banned if they were stupid enough to admit hacking like Chris said in the OP. I never downloaded any suspicious email, but got hacked too.
Lost a lot of currency itens, but just that. All my other itens e skill gems are "safe". There's no way to recover the currency, right? That's a shame -_- |
