that "solution" would be pay 2 win as far as i can see it

You must not trade much if that was the first way to exploit that.

Of course it is internal. That is incredibly obvious at this point, so many factors point to it being a dangerous loophole in PoE's account security. And still, GGG blame people's emails...how many more people will it take?

Feel free, at any point, to offer some proof to your accusations. You've been at it a while now and all I see are basely finger pointing posts, with nothing to back them up.

Rather than being a conspiracy theorist, why not "show us" how the problem is internal. This might allow some of us to start taking you seriously.

Why i never receive an email from ggg for unlock code when the "hacker" attemp to log in my account , why ??

Why my account needed to be verified just after the hack ?

Why you get a locked account even if you login on the same pc?

I think it is very simple and fast hacked on this game ... I'm pretty sure even

....

GGG assumes no responsibility for that .... just kids who want to make profits....

well the fact of the matter actually is as i said in my post this happened to me like 2-3 months ago i figured there would deifinitly be a fix for this by now . I PERSONALLY have not invested in this game yet but was considering to untill that happened...... But again i want to spend money and im not because this is a on going issue. GGG I WANT TO SUPPORT YOUR GAME ITS FUN but unfortunatly untill this gets fixed I wont and if i do end up getting hacked again it will be the last time I give this game a try, instead I will go back to blizzard and buy diablo 3 for the ps3 when it comes out.. In my opinion this is a way better game just gotta fix this hacking issue.

Agree, same problem and same history. Really 1st game I've ever gotten hacked in.

What is hard to understand about the following statement? : no person at GGG can possibly find out your password from their internal systems.

This is one of the most basic things with account security. Passwords are not stored anywhere in plain text. No one from GGG can possibly login to your account using your password. The only thing that they could do would be to reset your password to a password of their choosing (or to a randomized password). It would take Chris all of 5 minutes to realize that people's whose accounts were hacked had their passwords reset internally before the hack, another 2 minutes to find out which staff member performed the reset a just a few more minutes to stick a foot up their ass.

If this was internal then it would of been resolved by now. User account management is not difficult, a schoolboy could manage most of it.

what is so hard to understand that the same problem thats been going on for MONTHS now is deteriorating the community/ people from playing this game most people would have a fix for this by now. What is so hard to understand that people that spend DAYS of time grinding gear do not want to lose everything they worked hard for . What is so hard to understand that other games put more effort into stopping these kinds of attacks. What is so hard to understand that if this problem dose not get fixed this game wont go much further then its at now. Explain that to me thanks.

What do you want GGG to do? Whyat extra effort do other games put in? Blizzard is the only example I can think of, and Blizzard employs more than 120 times as many people as GGG.

They cannot secure your accounts for you, that is your responsibility. How should GGG prevent user error when their users are all around the world?

Realistically, the best thing that they could do would be to make a blizzard-like mobile authenticator for IOS/android. The thing is GGG is a small company with <20 developers and would have to hire someone in order to make such an application. It's not for me to say whether or not they should do so, but even if they did I guarantee you that there would be many people who chose not to use it and then got hacked. In addition, they would have to hire extra staff in customer support for all the people who lost access to their authenticator and could no longer login. And what about people who dont have IOS/Android, GGG could reelase a windows desktop version but that would not be 100% safe, and then people with macs/linux would complain etc. A hardware version would mean even more costs.

What else can GGG do? Maybe they could release an educational video explaining to people how to avoid getting their accounts hacked, but most people would not even watch it.

It's up to users to take responsibility for their own account security.
