You don't seem to appreciate the complexity of a game engine and how this integrate with the game. A game engine isn't like a graphics card where you can just replace it with a faster one. It's effectively a very complex system where everything in the game is build around it and it has many parts. So obviously improving the parts of the engine is important and can make a difference.

What do you mean by them moving to a new engine? Do you mean they should build one from scratch? That would need a tremendous amount of resources and it would probably be a waste of time. Should they buy one existing engine someone else made? First of all it may be quite expensive. However even if you overlook the cost, are you suggesting that there is an existing engine that is suitable for path of exile and it is significantly better? If so can you point it out?

People that have no understanding of how software development works, should do some research before they start talking nonsense like, the solution is to move to a new engine as if the engines are like a solid block of code that can be replaced or that an engine can be objectively better than another in all cases.

Just th eusual GGG style "I dont have a fucking clue what I am doing but I hit it with the nerf hammer as hard as I can" - and nerfs are not about bringing stuff into line but obliteration of skills or items...

Lets see - mjölner builds were okay - not even tremenduously op not in the line of EQ or blade vortex - EQ got a smaller aftershock damage as a nerf while mjölner builds:

Lost reliable charge refill from juggernaut
Got a 35% damage nerf when triggered
mjölner no longer triggers all spells
mjölner triggers have half a second delay...

ANY one of these would have been cripling but no. you needed to add 4 parallel nerfs at once...
Seriously... Fuck you guys.. I regret getting a supporter pack... You can always surprise me how far you can go into utterly brainless nerfs.


It is incinerate all over again - lets remove a skill gem from the game... why not all of them? the game would certainly be more challenging with only autoattacks... -.-
The difference is that incinerate was at least FOTM and relatively strong when it got nerfed first... Then of cours ggg monkeys decided to backwards nerf all chaos conversion items hitting again an already nerfed incinerate.

Again - I don't care about meaningful nerfs - but when a stronger skill gets a small nerf and a weaker one gets 4 big ones that is retarded...

The first impression after i read patchnotes is: "I'm fking done with this game." No idea if i will play this patch. You take away most fun part of every game. Triggers, procs, buffs etc. Nerf this nerf that... gosh. If i would want to selfcast spells i rather go play D3 with better setting, performance, animation, support, comfortable playstyle. Its freaking frustrating.

You are reading that wrong. It's not from 23 to 103. It's 23 to 44 FPS. Which is basically nothing, and probably even less of a improvement at end-game maps. Continue believe whatever makes you feel better though. We'll see in two days. But as I said, they are wasting their time on the engine.

those -35% damage nerf of discharge probably is pretty harsh.

BUT maybe. I say MAYBE. It is because there is a pretty high buff from the upcoming items.

So no worry guys yet - let's check 1st the new items, and maybe we will find it's not an issue actually.

it was a balance vs free buff and power creep introduced by Ascendencies..

and you know how many is depressed about the over powered meta, for years? Every fucking time I team up mapping there is always a COC player spamming whatever spells that make me think self-cast should not exist.

And yes i was one of them that never allowed other people to play CoC discharge on my parties, but only need to put that on party, no need to destroy all the build, many people enjoy the build, and believe me people understand when u pot on party name NO COC BUILDS OR KICK, i never had that problem, i never had and yes I hate CoC builds, but many loves them, i dont enjoy the bad feeling of them, because are a shit to lose all your time, yeah you was happy doint it, buy you feel like you dont finish something, thats why im not agree that people enjoy with the bad momments of others.

I never do other builds than melee, i always make my own builds, never follow like a sheep streamer builds, because GGG always nerf them, but damm are a shit to waste your time to the hell, and about play temp leagues, many people loves to play standard, this league ill stay on standard because prophecy was fucking boring, after a month, economy become shit, and leveling are cancer, and I enojoy more standard this time, seems like many "elite" players have problems with that.

Well good luck and because u have problems, only one person, they need to destroy the game for many others, that invested tons of hours, wish u enjoy more the game, many people are so selfish on this game, like i said, wath a great community!!!

Thank you for this patch, GGG. Finally even the more uncritical players can see how the game is going down the drain. Perhaps this is the waking call the player base needed. Perhaps it will cause the uproar YOU need to get your shit together and finally fix the game.

Are you seriously suggesting that an improvement from 23 to 44 fps is trivial? It is a huge change. 23fps is laggy while 44fps is quite smooth. Some people thing that if a game doesn't run on 100fps then the game is laggy. It doesn't work like this.

The movies you watch in the cinema are shown at 24 frames per second and they feel quite fine. The reason 23 fps feels laggy for video games is slightly diffeent though but that would be a long discussion.
