So about how many people join the races? I know this is the first race, but they use to be run in closed beta. Just wondering how many people plan usually join.

Wanted to add my support for doing away with currency rewards. While a fun incentive, it did seem artificial to have orbs coming in from a separate league, and the impact on the economy was huge as Chris said.
For people who want more accessible rewards, this category was added towards the end of closed beta:
Prizes for reaching specific levels and staying alive:
(Note that these have been made easier since it was first posted!)

Level 19: 7 Reward Points
Level 17-18: 6 Reward Points
Level 15-16: 5 Reward Points
Level 13-14: 4 Reward Points
Level 11-12: 3 Reward Points

If you practice a bit I bet you can get level 11 in an hour. Good luck.
