Player base isn't segregated, everyone is playing temp leagues.

As someone who has watched streamers and friends get Exalts and big-ticket items daily, while I get the RNG equivalent of a welfare check(have never gotten and EX or anything even close to worth an EX as a drop), all I see here is stuff I'll never be able to afford to craft, nor probably buy til near the end of the league.

Is there any chance of drop rate changes, or more ways to make money if you're unlucky, etc? Some games have ways to help with the grind if you aren't super lucky, but so far my experience in POE has been, "everyone else is super lucky and can afford anything they want, but no matter how many hours you grind, you cannot."

If these are just crafted like anything else, I foresee a league where I have to grind 60-80 hours a week just to attempt to find gear for the new "end-game" content.

Please either address the glaring issue of POE.trade being a crap system, or give us some shortcut features like Perandus, not everyone is lucky enough to get rich enough to actually craft anything...or buy anything. I really don't enjoy having to spend hours messing with Aquisition and Trade, selling 1C items or less over time, just to afford stuff I see everyone else buying and selling all the time because they happen get Exalts dropping like candy.

Yes, luck is luck, but one player shouldn't have a massively different game experience than another just due to RNG. Nothing random about getting bad drops consistently. That's a systemic issue.

You know what's hilariously ironic about this? Crafting in any other game is designed to counteract bad luck. It's a way to get gear that isn't usually the best, but close enough while being more reliant on working towards a goal rather than rolling the dice. But GGG is just so god damn in love with RNG, even their "crafting" system is RNG based.

PoE crafting is not crafting. It's re-rolling drops, with almost no control. That's what I hate about it, and why I'm not going to partake in a league based around it.
This is a buff™
Impressive as always! :D

Seconded. I would hate for that to become the norm.
Player numbers are plummeting.

I think that's the main point that bothers me. I'm fine with RNG, been playing games that rely on much RNG since D2 days, but there's always a way around. There has to be something that a player who experiences poor luck can do to still end up in the same place, power and gear-wise, as his super lucky friend who just finds everything he needs for a whole league in 2 days.

For example, I play about 3-4 times the amount of hours as my buddy, but he's sitting on 5-6 Ex worth of gear and currency, all just lucky RNG, whereas I have maybe an EX all told, if you were to add up every scrap of gear I have. Why am I not rewarded in any way for the extra time and work I put in?

There is no reason to get excited over new mods, new gear, etc, unless the crafting system stops becoming a gamble. Everything else is RNG, please address those of us who are consistently unlucky yet put the time and effort in.

That would be a change to get excited over.
Meh, just usual things that affect "the one percent", more like something fit for standard, not leagues.
It won't change a bit on builds because any build requiring such mods to perform would be a terribly unoptimized build, given the rarity/randomness of those.

Player base isn't segregated, everyone is playing temp leagues.

20% of players play standard
few % HC and HC league
Rest is playing temp league.

Whats more important that everybody forgets, few million possible players (so thousands of % of current playerbase) has quit the game and nobody care to wonder why. Leagues are one of the reasons, because like I wrote, nobody sane (only insane players are left here with few exceptions) will ever play a game where he needs to restart progress to get 1 new item or few. Thats just radiculous concept in itself.

@Edit
Add to that few other problems with other game cocncepts and playerbase = 10% of possible playerbase. And people that are left care only about that 10% that is left, so about themself. The game need to get new players in stable fashion and keep old ones here if it want to stay alive.

Kind of OP, but I'm guessing it comes at a price?
GGG Best Game Developers
Looks like more stuff that doesn't matter to the average player. Me and three others are not into crafting.

I love PoE but I don't like doing Maps, Uber Lab, or Atziri...So looking for new games.

GGG has made a great game but overtime it has gotten really stale. Most twitch streamers that play like 15 hours a day just grind maps, maps, maps and they complain about experience gain or getting higher tier maps which puts out the new players.

I turned 3 new players onto PoE this league and they all quit within a week because they felt like it got stale, which says a lot. They got to maps and did a few of them but they said to me the Tile sets are boring and more tedious then fun, which I do agree with.

We are looking into Grim Dawn & hoping Lineage Eternal or Lost Ark comes to the states sooner then later.
