[2.3] Explosive Arrow Elementalist (HC, Fast Clear)

Amazing build. I was a bit disappointed when I switched to EA at first but it went so good so fast. The clearspeed is over the top. Got myself a 6l Quill and a Kaom's now and gonna see how far I can push this build. :) Made a slight variation with getting Celestian Punishment and Beacon of Ruin so I don't have to use the Prolif- gem.

The only problem I have is with Izaro and Atziri. I can't seem to deal enough damage, most of the time I'm just running around trying to dodge damage.
So EA singletarget still consists of EA? How exactly? Wouldn't switching out weapon/gems for like burning arrow do more work? Obv quill rain would be kinda bad for it but substituting it for something else maybe?

Nice guide, leveling right now as arc witch. Can't wait until I get the pieces and switch.
Anyone know how well this build fairs against Uber Izaro, was wondering how smoothly i'll be able to do uber lab with this.
First 90 in POE in Essence League using a build that was definitely not Meta BV Pathfinder :V

I haven't tried myself, but just reading through the 6 pages of this thread the consensus seems to be that this build would not be good for such things. Seems it's weakest at single target/boss fights, and best for turbo-speed map leveling. There are probably far better builds that can be used as Uber farmers.
kinda noob question, do you level max all of your gems? if not why?

It's far from the best build for it but it's doable. You can get through each phase with pretty much 1 ignite on him. Just run until he does one of his radiant slash or leap slam and when he is still, get a 5 stack on him.

Argus is a pain because he is immune to ignite but with mirror arrow you can just kite him until he is dead easily, it just takes awhile.

As for Izaro fight, fonts and gargoyles are the only ones that make it hard. The temp chains from the fonts and the quicksilver/basalt gargoyle combo ruin me. The gargoyle combo 1 shots me with 6.8k hp if I don't pop my granite flask in time and the temp chains font makes it so I can't dodge anything while my mirror arrow is on cooldown.

The only times you wouldn't max level a gem is when the mana cost is a concern or when you are linking a gem with 'cast on damage taken'. A lower level 'cast on damage taken' will cause the supported gem to cast more often because of the lower threshold of damage needed to proc the supported gem. The immortal call is only level 3 because a level 1 CWDT can only support skill gems with a level requirement of 38 or less. And a level 3 immortal call requires level 38.
Two quick questions:

Empower lvl3 vs. L20Q20 Fire Pen? I feel like EA gains a lot from levels, so I thought it might be worth it?

Would EE be possible for EA? I'm thinking about getting #lightning on my accessoires (can craft it on all of them) to proc it. How would it do? The #lightning should damage enemies before the EA-explosions, so maybe it would be a damage improvement for only 3 points?

Edit: Nevermind, was answered in FAQ. Didn't read it until now..

For me uber Izaro and Argus is ok. I am doing them with frost wall and gmp-slower proj.-less dur.-fire pen.-conc effect. Also phase with a max charges is ok too. I am running in ES gear.

Here are some damage points.

1000 damage hit before adding a gem and factoring resists vs. mob with 0% fire resist.
-with lvl 3 empower = 1250 damage
-with 20/20 fire pen = 1370 damage + the bit from quality.

1000 damage hit before adding a gem and factoring resists vs. mob with 75% fire resist
-with lvl 3 empower = 312.5 damage
-with 20/20 fire pen = 620 damage + the bit from quality.

1000 damage hit before adding a gem and factoring resists vs. mob with 150% fire resist (the max that can be mitigated by a mob with resists is 75%)
-with lvl 3 empower = 312.5 damage
-with 20/20 fire pen = 250 damage + the bit from quality.

1000 damage hit before adding a gem and factoring resists vs. mob with -50% fire resist.
-with lvl 3 empower = 1875 damage
-with 20/20 fire pen = 1870 damage + the bit from quality.

The only time a lvl 3 empower seems to be worth taking over fire pen is when the resists of the mob are really really high or really really low. I believe most mob resists falls in the middle.
