I am running this build now on HC. I am about 60 now (Act 2 Merc) and about to pick up Vaal Pact. Scared don't know if it is worth using Vaal Righteous Fire. What are your thoughts? How much would you struggle with bosses without it? Have you ever killed yourself by a poorly located VRF? If I don't go VRF is there another set of gloves you would recommend? Stick with the wyrm? Just use rares? Thanks for your reply!

I've killed myself 2 or 3 times by mis-pressing VRF, when I was trying to use LW. I started to use VRF upon arriving at the merciless dried lake. At that time, the damage wasn't high enough to one-shot voll, and I could only leech back like 50% percent of my hp. And I really struggled to get RRBB on wyrmsign, which is a dex/str glove.

So what i did to get 2 blues, i did Vorici, 25 chromes, better then spamming regular chromes on it

So for HC though prob not worth using VRF then? I guess I will just take longer on the bosses and be safe :)
If i can sustain the mana would it be better to drop orb of storm and just use blasphemy for my curses?
Would it be worth it to drop the right side of the tree (Vaal Pact etc) and get left side regen etc for Righteous Fire?

Vortex Single Target is not bad but once u hit high level boss, there are bosses that are either tanky or annoying that u dont want to stand next to. Our casting speed is rather slow and it could make end game bosses annoying. Vaal RF solves all these problems and allows us to quickly kill anything. But it by no means the core part of the build, but rather an extra perk that we can take advantage of.

If you feel like no regen with Vaal Pact and occasionally miss press kill you, you can drop Vaal RF and get more life/life regen in templar.

Again, if you use Vaal RF, you have to take Vaal Pact, else you won't leech back in time.

I just realized this weapon has some potential

The increased damage against mod should function like an increased damage mod. I know it's additive instead of multiplicative, but it should have the same value as increased elemental damage mod.
The downside is the low hinder aoe coverage, but it should be fine for this build.

That weapon is really nice. Since we always lightning warp into pack to cast vortex, mobs should always be hindered. Dual wielding this may allow us to run a herald for curse utility or an extra blasphemy if you get some Mana reservation.

Another glove that I recommend is the southbound glove

This makes clearspeed godlike! It solves the drawback of using pyre which destroys corpses.

If you can't get RRBB on wyrmsign, it may worth running RBBG, which is Life leech + Vaal RF + Controlled Destruction + Rapid Decay. Or just use a southbound glove for easy coloring.

Why dont you use carcass jack?

I use Cloakflame because it provides physical mitigation. 20% of physical damage taken as fire.

We also take Paragon of Calamity, so every time we get hit, we take Fire damage and get 40% increased Fire Damage.
Yeah, I was mostly thinking scaling Vortex with RF and dropping Vaal RF. I'd like to run endgame Lab, and Vaal skills don't work against Izaro anyway. Also turning RF off when running traps for nice regen seems good.

Anyway, the build's damn fun <3
