I have actually been looking to try something similar, and you have me sold, looks incredibly fun :)

The 0 manacost is also amazing, but I was wondering about also going eldrich battery to support additional auras.

Also, do you know if the damage of righteous fire is increased by getting yourself more health, or if it deals damage based on the health of the totem?

Adding fire damage nodes or spell damage does not increase the DoT of righteous fire.

You should go for mana, es, resistance, radius aoe and totem nodes.

Burning damage works but also kills the totem faster

I farm Docks against Resist fire mobs.
I'm level 34 , Zone is level 32.

I go for radius of skill for more AoE and radius of aura to help protect the totems (do auras even apply to totems?)

This looks like a pretty cool idea. I have a 58 Dual Flame Totem Templar. When I get RF to a decent level I'll take a video and post it. Currently in A2 Merciless.
