Flame surge will chill, shock but not ignite. (assuming no elemental focus support gem)

Controlled destruction (lvl 19) gives me more tool tip dps than does Faster Casting (lvl 19). Also I'm currently one-two shotting (due to spell echo) large packs of mobs so anymore cast speed would be underutilized in my opinion.

Hi, I have been experimenting with rolling flames builds too.

My first build was CI fire elementalist (Mastermind of Discord, Liege of the Primordial), gem setup FB - GMP - echo - ele focus - fire pene, then controlled destruction as the 6th link. IGN: Sophie_Ellis_Bextor

It has been fine until I have played public games with supporter. I had big problems with reflect so I have switched to 100% chaos conversion (dual consuming dark, void manipulation instead of fire pene gem). I have changed my ascendancy too and it is so overpowered now.
Vile bastion for energy shield regeneration after kill and Void beacon for penetration vs rares and bosses.
I can life leech via Atziri flask too and finally I have blashpemy warlords too, so I can life/mana leech in close combats. (good in xx regen maps and no regen maps are viable too)

Single target is the best part of this build - 5x rolling flames + frost wall = no single target. I use vaal fireball too on SC, on HC I have used that slot for immortal combo.

On HC I have chosen RF life variant and max fire resistances vs reflect due to budget, I have spent about 10c for 20 lvl purity of fire and rest of the gear...
IGN: Sophie_EIIis_Bextor (ripped on bears, bears, bears...) FB - GMP - echo - fire pene - ele focus, same elementalist points. Leveled as (RF) dual flame totem until merciless labyrinth has been done, then switch to RF FB.

Now I play HC life variant with EB and MoM. IGN: Claudia_Black
Mana is fully reserved with anger and blashpemy - warlords - AoE. Vile bastion for "mana leech", Void beacon for penetration. This build will be good for leveling CI char on HC before you go ES. Good idea will be using zealots oath flask in tought combats, which will convert life regen into ES regen.
