If the duration nodes aren't necessary for Contagion spread, what about the area radius/damage nodes? They are taken in both the Witch and Scion versions of the build, but area damage doesn't seem to apply to Contagion. Are those nodes taken strictly for the radius increase?


Yup, for Contagion area radius increase, area dmg does nothing for this build.

i'll be starting the league with this build! looks great, and i've always wanted to try ED+Contagion :]
Can i make triple curse on this build sacrifice damage nods or some life nods for mana reserve ??
none of the passive trees are working since they updated the tree... any chance we coulf get an updated version of both the witch and scion?
can you update for the new tree? looking to play this tonight and what weapons does it use?

I am super new to this game, Like brand new. I decided to try this build, I'm aware the game can be pretty boring in the early stages so I guess I will have to muster through until level 38.

I might have a few questions as I look over this guide.

Again im super nub. In the really early stages of the passive tree, it looks like you take a few Avoid Interruption while casting nodes. Is this super necessary in this game, because it "looks" like I could take 3 spell critical strike chance nodes instead and still end up with the rest of the build looking the same.

Is spell critical just not an important for a build like this? or is avoiding spell interruption that good? Or am I greatly over-analyzing this early part of the tree and these points are just a means to progressing to better nodes?

this build is HC oriented ? have a CI variant ?

In path of exile, either you go full crit, or you avoid any crit nodes. There is no need to take critical chance node. And as far as I know (not sure about it), there is no critical chance on damage over time.

With Blasphemy you'll have to be quite close to the mobs, I guess the 55% chances to avoid being stunned are not that bad.

with 189% max life it should be OK if you kite the monster while draining their life. Don't forget Essence drain will heal you. I'll take a vaal grace perhaps for difficult situations.
