Atm I am using Soul Strike in my EA quill rain occultist and I must say that especially when combined with wicked ward it is amazing. But in general it reduces the recharge time from 2s to 0.7 if I am not mistaken. 1200 ES and 31% is a pretty heavy price though yes.

Note: I think the occultist still needs the eye - from my experience immune to stun on full ES is not that great - I got chain stunned in some dangerous situation so I started wearing it again.

I value clear speed almost over anything so I am glad chain reaction and the asc trap cd nodes are that good :) If I rip with this character I may try an occultist.


Edit: Hair trigger unique jewel is amazing for leveling when you get cluster traps at 38 (and before if you use multi traps) at least until you get chain reaction!

i wonder how much this will get nerfed/change with the upcoming 2.3.0 patch notes.

the build is untouched for 2.3

i just finished reading patch notes

i will be doing it again in 2.3 because it's by far my favourite build and i love trappers, probably starting the league with it

i will clean up the thread a day or two before the patch and update it as i go

if all things go well i plan to revamp it for clear speed significantly

it will depend of prices and availability of certain items, and how all the map balance changes impact the survivability

plans are to include trap cooldown into my 6L and use new unique Cospri's will as my chest

questions that remain to be answered is after the monster damage changes in maps and introduction of new dangerous monsters, can i get away with only 10k ES max on the build and still do high tier maps safely and is Cospris gonna be Shavs tier or even rarer

if things go well i expect much faster map clears bringing it closer to the clear speed meta and making it much smoother and more enjoyable

i won't focus on Uber as much, i recommend if you wanna focus on Uber hard to try out the Mine version, it's by far the best single target in the game and braindead when it comes to doing Uber atziri

Hey mate, what about bandits?
bandits are pretty much whatever you need/like

literally anything works

ill prob go skill point - attack speed - skill point myself

you can take endurance charge if you plan on using end cry yourself or take frenzy charge, i think ill opt for skill point because frenzy charges can be somewhat inconsistent with just 15% chance on trap trigger and they do fuck all on bosses

all res in normal is also a good option, but i don't personally think i'll be starved on resists that much

sadly due to various bugs and crashes i was barely able to play(having a lot of issues now too) so my progression is gimped first 2 days

what unique items u are going to use in this league!
i added a section on how to gear up early in the league to see what kind of a gear i plan to use

i also added final gear choices further down in the post too

out of the new uniques i plan to use Coated Shrapnel jewels

that frees up a link, and since you need 4 of them to achieve 100% poison you can basically threat them as:

12% trap cooldown per jewel if you decide to use Trap Cooldown gem instead of poison(recommended)

or 11% more damage per jewel if you decide to use Controlled destruction instead of Poison

They're pretty damn strong IMO when you consider what they enable you to get and are worth giving up rare jewels

If you had some sick 4 prop jewels with perfect rolls you might consider the downsides not worth it because the damage the unique jewels give is not that great, but getting a 4 prop jewel with exact rolls you need is very improbable

Other unique i plan to use is Kiara's Determination Silver Flask, it gives stun immunity so it would replace Chayula, curse immunity and freeze removal/immunity

Due to covering 2 suffixes it enables you to run a Jade flask of Reflexes which is pretty sick combined with Blind and Enfeeble, by my calculations with all the hit avoidance you can get down to less than 10% chance of being hit at all vs an average lvl 80 monster

The flask has downside of really short duration and only 1 use, so it's not something you can rely on entirely

Thankfully the introduction of endgame lab means you can now get a whooping 80% chance to avoid being stunned if you've killed recently

Having any energy shield at all gives you innate 50% chance to avoid being stunned which works multiplicatively with all other sources of stun avoidance so by using the enchant you would have:

1-0,8 * 1-0,5 = 0,1 = 10% chance of being stunned at all

couple that with low chance of being hit you get by running Enfeenble/Blind/Evasion and you are basically as stun immune as any solid life based build
