Would Bino's be a good choice as replacement for shield? just curious

I've used this build as my first character (I posted under different acct name, i.e., Euminedes, a few posts back). A bunch of thanks for introducing me to PoE! I got most of the gear, working on improving my rares.

I recently had a bino's drop (a bit of self-found here) and as a thought experiment tried it out with Zealot's Oath (3 skill points into tree suggested here I think). These two synergize well. I recognize shield is a major source of ES, but I think bino's increases effective ES, since damage usually interrupts/delays energy recharge. With bino's and Zealot's Oath, it keeps recharging and has allowed me to jump into the middle of monster packs (just tested in rare lvl 11 map with ele weakness) and survive unscathed, even though I was purposefully trying to die. This will be less useful on boss fights, but for mapping it greatly increases my survivability.
