um, i played an ED build and recently got a hold of an aegis aurora so i looked around and found your build. It's a nice build and i might end up playing it but... when calculating the "poison" damage, why do you multiply it with your support gem (void manipulation)? the gem poison is a support gem and is not supported by other supports. you also use consuming dark, which means the poison wouldn't benefit from the supports, even if they supported it. but 33% per sec instead of 46% is still op so it wouldn't matter much. overall very nice build, i need to go and change my contagion into abyssal cry now ha.

i looked around a little now i want to test how support gems actually affect poison.
for instance how conc, slower proj, void mani, rapid decay could stack and with 400% damage to chaos, dot, posion on tree would result in 10%(poison damage/sec)x5(100%+400%)x2.86(59%49%39%39%) damage. which is around 143% of the initial hit per sec poison, seems absurd though. need to test.

I'm trying this build as a Trickster (Swift killer , Ghost Dance + Shade Form)...i'm only lvl 74 right now, i have all the unique u're using and 15/20 quality for every gem (they're all lvl 17 right now).

But my dps on ED is really crap unbuffed compared to yours, i have like 9k unbuffed dps with a 5link lightning coil for the "dot" part on ED and u have like 34k unbuffed.
I've taken all the dps nodes from the tree already and i have 4 jewels will 13% chaos damage and area damage or damage but still i dont really get how u have so much damage, i think i will take like 8k dps more then this with all lvl 20 gems but this is still almost half or your dps....am i missing something? o.O

It's just the %damage on Berserker so big? i also have +5 frenzy charge (+1 from trickster and +1 from a corrupted Stone of lazhwar.

Yea, the damageboos from Berserker is really big - especially on poison builds, since the damage doubledips. You are also missing the 6th link though, which is a lot of damage.
Also, are you using Consuming Dark? Because thats basically another supportgem on top of it.

Works aswell. The loss of Whirling Blades hurts though, and I personally would go with Eclipse Solaris for the Permablind if you decide to play without Whirling Blades.

I'm currently playing this as 71 Trickster with all the required Uniques including consuming dark as weapon. Love the tankyness but 8 seconds cd on abyssal cry makes it incredibly inconvenient to play imo : / - I can basically only use it every 2nd group and have to fill in with contagion otherwise. Time to reroll I guess T.T

Yeah, the Cooldown of Abyssal Cry sucks (its 4 seconds btw, not 8 :P) - the Berserker Class solves this though.
You could also play this build as an Essencedrain/Contagion build with no changes to the tree whatsoever if you like and only use Abyssalcry to blow up bosses or rares.

Being poor (no aegis, binos, consuming dark etc) I am running your build as a gladiator (lvl 58 currently) for additional tankiness and it is proving quite strong and survivable despite the poor gear.

However I am finding abyssal cry weak and hard to use as it does not always kill, has a smallish radius and the cool down is a big issue when the first blast does not clear the pack.

I am guessing that these problems are due to my passive tree being incomplete, the skills/supports not being leveled to 20 and the lack of gem quality. Consequently I am using contagion until I can get abyssal working properly.

Some questions if you have time:

- Your gear links show abyssal at 1, is this correct and done to save mana?

- What gems are highest priority for quality?

- Why abyssal over contagion? At least at my level contagion seems superior in every way. Is it a scaling issue that is not evident until high level and tough bosses?

- I can see how Iron Reflexes combos nicely with Aegis. Without Aegis is Iron Reflexes still necessary?

- Any suggestions for other (cheap) shields? I was thinking of Lioneye's Remorse, or just any rare with decent block and armour or evasion.
