2.2 Crit Vaal Molten Shell - 1 000 000+ DPS because why not?

^^ im pretty sure it does i used to use scolds bridle with a BM gem mjolner build, the only requirement is that your attack has a mana cost of +1. The only part i didnt understand is if it keeps triggering while immortal call is up (maybe explained somewhere in this thread).

I'll say it again, blood magic will not trigger VMS.

(Maybe we misunderstood what the other was meaning i never thought that bm gem or otherwise would trigger vms on its own.)
I just put on scold's bridle ran to docks and could trigger vms no ememies around using bm molten strike with my mjolner witch, the keystone i have no idea.

Oh. In this case, BM has absolutely nothing to do with it.

It's all about scold's. You can use a 4L VMS gem on your mjolner discharger if you want to. It's a bit less damage, but a definitely strong damage boost for bosses.

Alright so I moved 7 points around in order to get a new jewel slot and keep the same amount of total health.

However that would require you to get enough mana regen to sustain spamming firestorm without the life/reduced mana cost wheel. You also take slightly more damage by casting firestorm (unchanged for incinerate).

I won't put the tree in the original post but I'll leave it here for those interested. What this does is a quality of life change. As some of you may have noticed, even with our current crit chance + a diamond flask, we don't ALWAYS get a crit VMS. Things still die fast, but nothing shatters and it's kind of annoying.

With the new jewel socket in your tree, you can put another Vaal Sentencing and bump up your crit chance by a little over 6% which is obviously rolled twice with the diamond flask so it's rather significant.

What lvl is your char and how is survivability?

I played quite a while ago, and found out that even with OP damage you can't level past 90 since with such low hp some things instantly kill you, before you can get to them to start VMS.

Examples of which being a pack of chaos dmg snakes on a crit mod map, or just a dog boss from Village Ruin without any damage mods.

Why dont you take the staff crit nodes? 10% more crit chance and 10% more crit damage and 1 less point than arcane potency.

This build doesn't use staff. Staff is only to gather souls in the beginning of map.

The only way I die is if I do stupid things like craft tier 12+ 8 mod maps with -max res, crit mod, extra boss damage, double boss ele weakness, vulnerability, etc, etc.


To die with this build, you kinda have to try hard. The only hazy part is gathering the souls with firestorm. Once that's done, you're virtually invincible.


On and I'm level 92 now. I was pretty close to 93 but got bored so I'm working on a new witch/build now. (crit self cast spark)
