dual wield dagger evasion acrobat face tanking merciless bosses

I know im a bit higher level when i record this vid, but so far with my evasion acrobat build I've been face tanking all bosses starting from brutus normal up to oak merciless..I post this because i know a lot of people prefer melee up close and personal fight without using totem, stun, knock back, kite, etc... so here goes

I will give some of my recommendation requirements if you go with evasion

here are some of the merciless boss fight

first fight Brutus ( level recommended 58 )

minimum requirement
enfeeble or any other curse you like, i just use enfeeble so it makes me feel even safer.
evasion : 7k +
dodge : 20 %
hp : 1.7k+

second fight merveil ( level recommended 60 )

minimum requirement
enfeeble is a must have here since you want to tank loads of people with evasion, you would also need aoe.It doesn't matter what aoe you use as long as you can kill them all and leave oak to solo.
evasion : 8.5k+
dodge : 20 % or higher
hp : 2.3k+
resistance : max
I could've use flicker on that fight with oak to make it look cooler.. flicker + whirling blade spam on evasion dual wielding shadow is a sick sight to behold, but yea i forgot to use it.


Now here is the deal you don't have to be a shadow..as long as you have those minimum requirement you can be a ranger to face tank or even a duelist ! ... I picked shadow cause i like dagger and crit nodes ^^

Facetank Vaal's Ground Slam and I'll be impressed :p

Still, good job with Brutus and Oak. Merveil isn't really much of a challenge.

Could you provide a bit more detail? What nodes to take first?

Also, what about the Int for daggers? You seem to be getting a good part of it from gear since what you have is only enough till lvl 41 + one lvl 56 dagger type. The others ask for 90-140 int.

all you need is maybe about 60 intel and then use onyx amulet..you see to be honest i tend to spec my build all the time with regret orb and spec points depending on whats gears i have

the intel i got from my gears, but if you dont have intel then you can always spend on the intel nodes !
the point is as long as you reach the minimum evasion requirement, you can just face tank them
as you can see my gears arent that great lol

I face tanked Cruel Brutus and Merveil with my lvl 40 Shadow Acrobat as well...it just requires solid HP, and a curse.

To make it even quicker, I dropped a Flame Totem + LMP + Faster Projectiles and three Fire Trap + Increased AoE + Added Chaos Damage. Combine those with Double Strike + Faster Attacks + Blind, and you're extremely tanky against big bad guys.

This is all without any nodes in Fire Damage.

im lvl70 now and play an evasion/acrobatic shadow too. my build looks like this



i got 11431 evasion rating (with grace) 30% dodge, and 2,1k hp. my resist are 24fire, 63cold, 39lightning and -43chaos. I know that my resis are crap xD.

but im getting trouble with melees as well, they hit me very often for high amount of dmg (in case of 0 armor through acrobatics).

im using dual strike for single target dmg, and lightning strike for aoe. whirling blades is more a skill to "get away" for me this times. fire trap and warlords mark are used when i need.

as i see in your vids your WB does good dmg, so may i ask about which gem constellation you are using with your skills?

Hope you can give me some tipps, cuz im playing with the thoughts of speccing in DW with Iron Reflexes and Unweavering Stand like this

ok well having 11k evasion is great but as you can see in my vid i have almost max resist on all except chaos.. which is important..
resistance + high evasion + acrobat = face tanking
hp is also good to have, having 2.1k hp is not good you have to balance your build like this from top priority to last :
- hp
- resistance
- evasion
- dodge
- dual wield block rate

so at 70 your goal should be to have around :
- 3k+ hp
- 10k evasion if you dual wield or 12k if you use shield
- 25 % - 30 % dodge with PA
- 20 % block rate

as for dps the reason why my wb deal a good amount of damage is because i use

as you can see if you pause on the vid during oak fight my dps its actually isnt that great, my goal is to reach 600 or so dps so i need a better dagger ;p

I nvr really tried IR so i cant really comment much about that 1, but what i can tell you though that to make acrobatic - phase acrobatic usefull you need tons of hp and evasion
maybe around this value for 75+
3.5k+ hp
30 % dodge
20 % spell dodge
11k evasion with grace
capped resistance

note that i skipped vaal because it was a loooong fight and due to the falling rocks and tons of mobs + fraps, my shietty pc get lag and im unable to record it and extra note vaal merciless donkey punch cannot be evaded, but can be dodged !

also note that before i fight piety i lured out all the mobs and kill them 1 by 1 and then finish piety last
