[2.5] Dual Flame Totem Crit version. 263k dps (400k possible) . Uber and Normal Atziri

Nice build im in the process of changing my shockwave totem to it, I tried out
with knockback in the totem and it seems to work quite well I am also using incinerate with romiras for powercharges i was mucking about with dual curse but seems hard to get shock (was using 3 dragons which wont apply with herald of thunder) will try added lightning dmg even though it seems unoptimal.
could you refresh the item setup on first post pls?

SO you had to change the colours in your chest to run Empower...hmmm..

I will probably try that too, but I hate chroming..heheheh...especially when your armour is biased to a certain colour socket.

I also tried Warlord's Mark and am still running it as a dual curse setup as I have done this before on a different witch build using Windscream boots. It was actually a tri-curse setup as I had the ring too.

Anyways, it's good to see you are still making progress with the build. Please keep updating us.

Did a update to the original post after some changes.

I got my first Empower to level 3 and was lucky enough to Vaal it to level 4

I have changed my gem setup so that now I run Flame Totem - Fire Penetration - Faster Casting - Added Chaos Damage - Empower lvl 4 - Faster Projectiles, dropping Increased Critical Damage.

That setup gives me extra 5,5dps in Hideout. Also started using Atziri's Promise wich adds a further 5k dps getting me 76k dps in Hideout with only Flame Golem and Atziri's Promise active.
Vaal Haste then adds another 12k dps so in bossfights I have now 89k tooltip dps.

Also added Vaal Discipline to the mix wich boosts my ES by 2,3k.

Update your tree also, i see you leveled up from 89 to 91, gz on it

It took me 38 tries with Vorici's 1 Red Socket (162 chroms) wich I find pretty reasonable.

How do you have time to dual curse mobs? Mobs are usually dead when I cast a curse except bosses ofcourse.

I plan to do Uber with this build so I'll be progressing it until I accomplish that. Wonder what kind of Totem dps would be needed. Anyone have experience on that?

Gear and tree has been updated in original post.

So I got lucky, again.

Updated dps is 71,3k in hideout and 92,6k with Vaal Haste and Atziri's Promise.

I did a few Atziri runs last night and recorded one of them. Atziri run's are really easy now as you can see in the video.

Updated original post.

So I just started playing and I'm doing a dual flame totem as my first character which limits me in gear choice. I'm thinking I might not be able to get a properly linked/colored Infernal Mantle (on WB). Would skipping the chaos part of this build make a big difference for a newbie like my self?

Also I noticed when skipping chaos maybe getting fire damage becomes good? Like picking up Snowforged/Throatseeker on the way to Written in Blood/Doom Cast, or do you loose too much survivability/utility when not going through Practical Application/Deep Wisdom?

It's not the chaos part of the Infernal Mantle that makes it so good. It's the +1 to fire gems (because Flame Totem gains alot of dps for each level), 100% to critical strikes chance and increased fire damage.

You can operate fine on 5-link and getting 3B+2R or 3B+1R+1G should be easy. The talent tree is optimized with Infernal Mantle in mind so if you decide to use another chest then yes, you should change the tree accordingly. How to change it relies on your gear so it's hard for me to say since I can't see the charcters in your profile.

Alright. What about using a staff with +2 to fire, how would that compare to the 100% crit? Also why are fire damage passives not fully effective? Is it because they don't apply to the Added Chaos Damage gem? From reading about conversion it seems that the chaos conversion from the chest benefits fully from increased fire damage.

Damage conversion is done before any increases, or multipliers are applied to damage guaranteeing that they are only applied once.

You lose alot of dps and defenses using a staff instead of a good main-hand with shield. For this particular build, Infernal Mantle is best in slot.

You can always use other items and use this build as a base to do your own build.
