There's nothing stopping you from using ES or a higher life pool. By not using them you're making your build worse.

Doing a 80 map without dying is a ok achievement but not completely meaningful. Try doing 100s of them in a party where you're not only concerned about not dying about also care about clearspeed.

Hiding behind zombies is much slower than running up to mobs an casting SRS directly in their face. Likewise, arc totem is slower than arc-double curse on hit.
