[2.0] Allout Lightning Melee (budget build)

Bought those gloves yesterday, because their price is somewhat low now.


Adding about 2k DpS, but no life (I lost about 300 life) and no resists, so they are by no means BiS. I still have to swap to my old gloves in ele weakness maps:


The lvl 18 added lightning to Arc and Tempest Shield is somewhat useful. With all the %lightning damage from tree and Hyaon's, Arc actually kills monsters. ;)

In my tree, I can gain 1-62 lightning damage.
That's just not worth it. My 8% sword attackspeed jewels do the same dps, and have life rolls. Even my A2N jewel "Survival Secrets" with its 10% elemental damage only does 300 DpS less than this, and has nice mana regen on top.

Did you find any solution to the mana problem? I`m using your guide and I feel like running clarity isn`t good and spending all those points in reduced mana reserved is even worse, i`m having to use mana leech or blood magic to be able to keep using spells.

Nice build - thanks for showing me this thread when I theorycrafted my own Lightning Reave Shadow! I'm running the Shadow with some differences (no RT, Catalyst instead of Shield, ES instead of mana etc.) but the concept is the same, and it seems very solid. I'll probably make my own thread when I get to run higher-level maps.

I'm at level 78 now with rather similar numbers (a bit more life and evasion, less damage). I think that at least the helmet slot should be filled with a unique item as there are some great options available. The best (and also cheap!) ones are Devoto's Devotion whose drawback is non-existent with this build, and Starkonja's Head which gives less damage but some serious life with it. Both can be had for under ten Chaos in Standard. There's also Rat's Nest if one has more currency and wants to take it towards crit.

Have you already tried Vaal Lightning Strike for bosses where you have to run around a lot? I have not been impressed with it on physical damage melee builds, but with all the lightning/elemental scaling maybe it will be great here. I need to get some additional strength on my build to try it myself...

I never bothered to upgrade my gear.
Most of this stuff is what I bought at lvl 60-70 for a couple chaos, it's just "good enough" (max resists, some life), nothing else.

I played my Scion till 89, in maps <77, then I was a bit annoyed by the constantly appearing map mods that ruin my carefully balanced mana regen.

There's a lot of room for improvement in my gear, but all I really wanted was to get into maps supercheap (I bought my Hyaon when they still cost 1c), and farm them until I get bored and start something else.

With cleave as main skill, most dangerous bosses can be dodged quite easily.
Whirl away, Cleave him from distance, whirl through him, Cleave from the other side.
Bosses were no real issue, so I didn't try any "bosskiller combo".
