Wondering if new Rupture support still functions the same as the ascendancy from last time (global debuff, can apply using any utility skills)

or

only benefits the bleed from active skill gem linked to the support itself.

When hovering over a support gem, a "supportable skills" popup shows which currently equipped skill gems are compatible with the support gem.

It would be great if this menu also popped up when engraving the support gems in the larger Str/Dex/Int engraving menu.

Early on, support gems are critical and pretty rare, so engraving one that was incompatible with my basic crossbow shot was pretty brutal.

Sorry if this is a wrong thread, can't find PoE2 subforum, just want to provide some feedback on supports in PoE2.

The current support gems system in PoE2 punishes exploration. Even if you pick compatible gems they can turn out to be a bad match with your skill, partialy i think mercenary skills are not that good with few exceptions. And in the Act 1 they are quite rare.

Instances when you are picking spirit gems have a big gap between. I picked the banner in my first playthrough cause i thought will go for a frost build on my merc anyway, so fire and lightning heralds was a pass for me (oh boy). Surely there will be another spirit gem drop, right? How foolish i was.

Well to summaries i bricked my first merc by picking support gems to try out combos like poison machinegun and they turned out to perform poorely (mostly i feel merc skills are not that great with some exceptions).

So I started a new character and went for a pure % value with frost and herold of ash and it was a blast.

Support gems either should be more common to drop, or Hooded One should offer them for some currency in exchange or like some system where you can "upgrade vendor" for support gem of higher levels.

Mobility support gem doesn't work with the Monk skill Meditate, which I feel like it should, because the description states "supports all skills which can be used while moving".

I didn't see a specific thread for the mobility gem, so this post goes here.
