I have a question and maybe someone else has tested this more than I have. Last night I had the bright idea to link infernal blow with melee splash. It did seem clear to me that anything that died in the splashed IF did explode. my question is, if something does not die from the melee splash, but then dies from one of the subsequent explosions of another enemy that was killed, is that death soon enough to cause it to explode as well? If no one else has an answer I will try to run more tests and update... may be a few days though.

When you hit a monster with Infernal Blow, you place a timer on the monster. If the monster dies before the timer expires, the monster explodes. The timer lasts 0.5 seconds and cannot be modified.
So yes, that will work. And it's glorious. I love IB + Splash. |

Something to look at for Infernal Blow. I think in my opinion, kind of really dangerous because you will die almost always to elemental reflect. I have capped resists in this video, although my HP pool can be better(I don't really have great gear). Another thing is that if you're a melee spec, you tend to run into life leech issues :\ I would say that Infernal Blow scales very well, in fact extremely well in group play/higher level content as long as there aren't any elemental reflect mobs. I would say you would need over 4.5k HP to survive most of those situations(maps). Because the explosion is based on mob hp%, the higher the mob hp; the higher damage the explosion will do. Concentrated Effect is an interesting suggestion I've heard and I would look forward to trying it. Huge mana costs. IGN: Zarithinor

Is the 0.5 second debuff duration confirmed? I couldn't find a GGG post about it.

" I've exploded elemental reflect groups without much issue. I'm not sure the explosions get reflected (just like traps don't). In any case it hasn't been a problem for me. You can see my pop an ele reflect pack in this video at around 3:35. |
