2.1 pure life SRS [2.1 DPS calc]

Ahh, there's no Arc in the Gems section of HC, so I was confused by that.
Why don't you take more reservation nodes in HC version? With an Alpha's Howl + Conqueror and 24% reservation (26 if you don't use Conqueror), you can reserve haste-anger-hatred at 99% for maximum dps (or probably put a defensive aura in if you prefer). I think you can drop a few life nodes for that, SRS is a pretty safe build anyway.

I have levelled my shadow to 69 Tempest. Playing dw dagger reave right now. Thinking to switch SRS because its safer and i want to try atziri later on.

But i guess i am missing so many points as shadow to spec into srs. :/
Yeah, I think it'll cost you too many regrets, just re-roll. It's damn fast leveling with FT and SRS as long as you don't rip!

I didn't bother with that because I thought HC players might want to use a 25/35% defensive aura instead of 3 DPS auras. Anyways I added a potential tree that drops the witch minion damage nodes in favor of charisma. Can run Hatred+Haste+Anger with Alphas (no conq efficiency needed). Gave you credit for the idea. I'll leave it up to you guys to do the DPS calculations to see whether it's worth it. :P

Just curious why Elemental Equilibrium is taken, however. How is it you trigger it? Or you're counting on Chaos/Skeletons/Zombies to hit consistently enough?


Spirist do fire damage (50% of damage converted to fire). Then you add hatred for cold damage. Next minions don't proc EE, only you do. So you proc EE with arc and minions get extra damage.


Where would you put arc in the gem sockets you have listed? Replace flame dash I suppose?

A little question on math, Matrix, if I don't like Multistrike, can I replace it with Added Fire? In 1.3, it's often mentioned as one of viable 6th link but I don't see any 2.0 SRS build use or even mention Added Fire. With Melee Phys Dam as a given in the link, Added Fire will give a tremendous boost, arguably on par if not surpass Multistrike. Not to mention 130% vs 180% multiplier. Sure the fire-res boss can be an issue, but it can be solved with flammability/ele weakness curse right?

@shiverwarp: I don't know where Matrix will put Arc in his link, I personally will put it in spell totem link, in place of skelly. I don't see the point of skelly, really, perhaps if I got a free link in CWDT, I'll put a low level skelly for distraction, but if I really got free socket, I'll rather put in a curse, like enfeeble, ele weakness, etc.

Added fire was the weakest link in 1.3. Now it's even weaker with the "30% less added damage" on the SRS gem. Multistrike works great with anger as well. If you're having mana issues, use culling strike instead of empower. It's just as well but has a lower mana multiplier (1.1 vs 1.4 effectively).

I need help with my character on Tempest!



going to craft blood magic (vagan mod) on that staff, but not sure what gems to use >_<

the idea was to go, Spell echo, Melee phys, Minion dmg, Multistrike

now that I have read this thread im curious at culling strike... what is your opinion?
It won't make much different, I tell you. I tested different combos with Dom 2nd form (easiest to check) and count the time of his death and it appears that there is almost no difference between multistrike and added fire. I'm lazy to chrome my staff to try culling strike (and level the gem up) but I guess it should be the same. Personally, I use added fire whenever I am bother cursing the boss with ele weakness (which will benefit added fire more than multistrike or culling strike), but SRS is so damn strong that I think you should focus your attention on defense mechanism.
