Explosive Arrow Marauder (Updated for Release)
" 100% dude... Why wouldn't it be? I leveled this build or something very similar the first week this game came out, on Anarchy league, and I am currently level 45 on Domination. The only Unique this build needs is a Quill Rain, which I just bought for a chaos. I highly recommend this build for anyone at any point of the game. Send me a PM in game if you need help with mechanics. IGN: stinkypickle

" I posted my gem recommendations on the first page (in the main post). As far as stats on gear goes, you want to get %fire damage on everything you can (rings and amulet), and just get as much life and resists on everything else. Also, note that you will want to have at least one piece of gear with +x-y lightning/cold (either or) damage on it (so on a ring, amulet, or quiver) in order to make effective use of EE. You can also use added cold / addedlightning as a link (rather than blind) on your Split Arrow if you don't have a piece of gear with the flat damage you are looking for. The damage on gear is preferred since Blind is OP. Stat priorities are as follows (some items can't roll certain stats in the list (ie, chests can't roll %fire damage) Life = One piece of gear with flat elemental damage > Lightning/Cold/Fire Restistance (until capped) > Chaos Resist (this can be a lesser priority depending upon how well you handle chaos damage) > Increased Armor/Evasion--flat or % (only Evasion if you're IR) > Movespeed (boots only) > %Fire Damage > Attack Speed (rings only) > Strength (life bonus, and bonus to Iron Will if you like cheesing it a bit with EK) > Item Rarity = Item Quantity > Cast Speed (on amulet--it is a bit helpful for casting flammability/Enduring Cry etc) > ES (having at least a single point of ES is nice because it makes you less likely to get stunned) > Everything Else Note that the resistance cap to strive for is actually ~125% in Merciless if you plan on doing elemental weakness maps. Thank you for updating the skill tree to 1.0 Pastramy. I've not played for some months and logged in just to learn that my lvl 82 EA Marauder lost his whole skill tree. I didn't bother to spend few hours to get myself back into PoE mood and just logged out. With your update, it will be much easier for me to get back into the game by just coping your skill tree, and finally experience the new content. Thank you, again for all your hard work related to this thread.
One question though, should I wait a couple of days more until you test the new build or are you certain that there won't be further changes and the link to the new build in your original post, on the first page is ready to go? Last edited by Bhaya#7498 on Oct 25, 2013, 4:40:35 PM

After looking at your new build I worked a bit through the offline skill builder to compare stats because I believed that you were traveling too much in your build and I believe this build here is almost strictly superior for Explosive Arrow.

Brief summary is that I focused more on the damage nodes near the primary area so that I could spend more points on other areas instead of traveling, such as more armor. You will find that this build is only about 18% less life for about 45% more armor as well as maintaining roughly equal damage, through fire/elemental damage instead of projectile. Higher AOE radius as well. Last edited by bekill#3183 on Oct 25, 2013, 5:02:46 PM

" Builds are always in the testing phase for me. At this point (as you can see the post above this one--which I haven't had a chance to look at in depth yet), I don't think the build is anywhere near set in stone. I do think that the paths that I take are very solid in general, though. This means that, even if there are (and there will be) changes, you shouldn't have to spend more than a few regrets to implement them. Edit: I just now got a chance to look at the skill tree posted above this one. The damage and survivability on it do indeed look very good. The biggest concern I have with it is that it only has 44 dex. This means that you will have to have dex on almost every piece of gear in order to meet the requirements for EA. That fact likely means that you'll be pigeon-holed into using a light quiver... Which means that you can't use a conductive or the ice quiver... Which is makes it harder to roll top tier gear. I'm busy leveling a scion right now, so I haven't played my EA Mara much, so it will be a while before I can get back with more concrete results (post play testing). Also, how does the %life regen compare? Last edited by Pastromy#5792 on Oct 25, 2013, 5:24:34 PM

" I can live with that. Thank you. :) |

"It has 0.4% more life regen, A small change to the route added 50 more dex for 3 points, which puts the total skill points roughly equal to your original build. http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgEBAnEEsxJpFE0XHBkuGYUaOBpsJKon7TWSNuk62DrhQYdBqk3YTeNQUFRJVcZYY18_cXlyqXzZgW-DOIjxjHaMz49GkFWdrp48ogCmV6cIp4SsWayqtz653cbYz2XQ0NSP2t3fv-Nq51LnY-w47w7vfPAf8i_yRfPd9kj3Mvjr-ej-Cv6PFHEGDmP9Ja0J9tgkNsU22O-FiBvsVacwFCBQRzwFn9-LjOFz7SBG18T2PC3Grj38fLgpLoLHKPqYrT0PJIt8u_NxffUpT-Qi Last edited by bekill#3183 on Oct 25, 2013, 6:16:58 PM

Damage was never really much of a problem for the build. I also never felt like I needed any more AoE.

I do think the witch nodes are pretty decent. I feel like the points spent near BM can be better spent elsewhere. This is because, while the area is pretty good, it doesn't lead anywhere else (which is why I spent them to go towards the area between duelist and ranger instead). |

I feel like going through Faith and Steel node is pretty much wasted (mb unless you opt for Carcass Jack) or going for any %+armor nodes at this point. Without running grace+IR i dont see armor having any real impact in this build at all. Espcially now that koams heart is available again (with +fire dmg GEEEZUS) u wont get lots of armor with gear either.
I'm planning to try out an Acrobatic Build since i dont see an efficient way to stack armor atm. (playing it as scion, but its basicly same as marauder) SkillTree + 20% more hp + more dex + 30% attack dodge (applies to reflect too from what i've read, not sure tho) + 30% spell dodge - no armor - less overall dmg (I used to oneshot most bosses without the extra projectile dmg too tho) Let me know what u think :) PS: Currently lv 40 in Nemesis and cant wait to burn stuff again.
