Forum users are now TEN TIMES more likely to get into Beta for now

an over immdiate amount of spam on one beta key by hundreds of players really overloads their servers and causes them to increase the timer.....basically in retro spec its all those who rushed into the game so fast that caused the timer cd to go up.
I can see the first witch being made then a comment by the villagers. Villagers: KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!

We've changed the formula for the beta invite timer so that forum users are now substantially more likely to get in.

We can and will alter this later. It has to be fair on everyone, and we do care about the guys who signed up but haven't posted.

By the way, when the signup date is the same as the join date and there are no posts, that doesn't mean that that user is a duplicate or someone who doesn't follow the game. There are tens of thousands of people who signed up and haven't logged in again since their initial signup. They still read the forums and want to be in the beta.

Awesome news Chris! :)
They're probably not using the same server for their website as they use for their game server. Thus the rush to activate your account is different then the stress they're putting on the game server by more players playing. Don't worry, this stuff is pretty separated out so they can test what they want to test effectively. Watch some of their random level generation videos. These are some serious Game Developers :D!
This is my 1st post so it might look obvious that I'm crying, but most of the so called "active posters" are just pure ass lickers who are spamming stuff like "OMG GUISE UR THE BESTZ GAME DEVELOPARS *COUGHCOUGH* KEY PLAEZE". They're just flooding the forums, not contributing. So, it's kind of dumb they'd get priority over the keys. But hey, you gotta share the keys somehow, and I do agree that they shouldn't go to bots who have registered just to spam :)

Dude don't hate on the devs. Im sure they have lots of work to do, and giving beta codes out manually would be just too much for them.

I'm sure they have community managers to do this. I think it would be better to have solid player base of testers, than army of auto registered bots from multiple accounts who flooding forums with crap post now. dont you agree? Just check the treads. People spam 1-2 words in every post they can reach with "ok", "wow", "good" posts.
P.S. I've registered half of year ago. I was not active at forums as there was not much to discuss imo without really getting into game and test. And i dont really care of i get my key now or later or i will have to wait until OBT. It just sad to see sll this bots flooding forums now along with people having 200-300 accounts registered just ot get a key and maybe start to sell it for real money at some internet market sites.
