Feb 12: 1h Solo HC (Calibration - no prizes)
First race. Died at level 9 in cavern.
My raceplan was roll witch freezepulse and traps use fireball for big bosses, get to forest and grind the monkeys as long as i could, i was going to grind coves to 11-12 but with 15 minutes left i took a risk and got swarmed by nasty blue lightning mobs. Had a dc and a few desyncs. It was fun and hopefully i have learned more before next race. |

So, this was my first race(I wasn't in CB).
My main in a EK-fork shadow at the beginning of Act3 softcore who I built wrong because I didn't know glass-cannon was terrible. Anyways, I finished at level 8 after killing the giant crab because I didn't know that I shouldn't be killing every little monster I could find. I guess I should learn when I should run past enemies and when I should mop them up. I rolled a ranger for the first time and found a rare dagger pretty early and went with that. So where on the forums would there be a basic guide to races? Just the standard tips that apply to most characters, like how good quicksilver flasks are and what levels about you should be to get to certain areas or fight certain bosses.

" You can learn a lot just watching streamers like Kripparian. He participated on today's race (starts at 58min): http://www.twitch.tv/nl_kripp/b/366492504 Here's an older one: http://www.twitch.tv/nl_kripp/b/329109317 |

" Thanks, I'll try to watch it before tomorrows race! (If it doesn't draw girlfriend aggro.) |

" That's not necessarily a bad thing. If the same handful of people win every single race, which is more likely to happen the longer the event, it will eventually discourage anyone else from participating. Short duration races appeal to a much larger number of users due to the short time commitment and the unpredictability. The longer races will likely have higher rewards. So the races that involve less luck and more skill will be more rewarding. But the shorter races give a larger pool of players a chance to win something. " ... to let them know the game isn’t going to be very fair from here on out."

400+ characters over level 10 that's pretty interesting participation. Sadly I erred setting the alarm on my new iPhone and slept right through the race :(
I'm BACK :)

I'll be chuffed if they set the bench at level 11...I was so close to 12 I think and where did I go wrong? All I can think of is I avoided the undead moa area and hailrake....lost on xp there Im thinking, but damn I'm afraid of those things! :<
Uhmmm guys...I was rank 261..but now Im 259? Is my offline char going back in time? O_o If GGG chickens made an action RPG, what would it be called? Path of Eggxile, a Peck 'n' Slash RPG. Why was the helmet spluttering? It was a coif. Last edited by Hyaon#5489 on Feb 12, 2013, 6:48:39 AM

Quoting myself again.
" Dunno why such known formats need to be tested. The majority of players don't skip areas so after 1h they will have level 10, after 2h level 17 in A2, after 3h level 20 in a2 and after 4h around level 24 end of a2. |
