Random new character... what?

Yeah I had a level 1 character that wasn't mine, too.

I presumed it was to do with being on the beta.

same here, had a character named Jace which I don't think I created level 1 then it stopped showing.

Can people posting here confirm if they are in the beta or not?
I believe this is only a problem with accounts that have beta access/beta leagues.

I also had/have a level 1 character named Pabro (my account name but with "o" and "a" switching places) show up, which I'm sure I never created.

Using /whois confirms that the character apparently does exist on Standard, but I don't have it listed on my account.

It happened after I purchased the Awakening supporter pack and got beta access, and it only shows up when I play a character on the closed beta.

I had already contacted GGG support about it, and the reply was that it will be forwarded to the relevant team members, but no info on when it may be fixed.

Not a big deal anyway, but seems a bit odd, especially with the recent events reminding of a Kiwi Halt 2.0.

Pretty sure this is just a Beta issue, probably messing up the character index for your beta character. I got a level 1 Marauder named Blighthammer the day I got my beta key.

This certainly happens because of the beta. There was as dev post along the lines of "The forum/site isn't hooked up to the beta realm [...] that's why you can't link beta items in the forums and why random characters may appear in your character list".
