The Awakening Supporter Packs

I think a Story is in order

"Two Years ago Jeff spent money ,out of his own pocket, to build a swimming pool for his local community. He received some financial support from members of the community who thought it was a great idea. Once he opened the pool he allowed everyone to use the pool as much as they want for free. Jeff didn't want to charge anyone for the pool because he felt the pool should be available for everyone, so Jeff placed a tip jar in the door of the pool and people donated what they could. The tip jar paid for lifeguards, insurance, water and general maintenance of the pool.

Two years later Jeff decided the pool needed a change so he decided to build sauna, and a steam room, and a diving pool and some other features. Jeff set about building his improvements, after a while People began to ask Jeff exactly what he was building so he told then about his plans and they were excited.

Jeff built all the core components of his new facility but he still had some issues. Should the Sauna be 70,80 or 90 Degrees?. How much steam does a steam room need? What height should the diving board be? Jeff new what he liked but he knew that the community might have different ideas about how his facility should be setup.

So Jeff decided to invite some of the people who helped him build the pool 2 years ago to test his new facility. He listened to their criticism and made changes accordingly.

Now some of the patrons of Jeffs pool became angry,
"Why do those guys get to use the Sauna and we don't", they asked

"Well they helped me build the original pool two years ago, so I thought they might have some interesting thoughts on the new facility", Jeff replied

"Well that's not fair" they cried ,"I thought this was supposed to be a free pool for everyone".

"Oh don't worry its still free and all of the facilities will be available to everyone once were finished. Besides, to be honest, I don't think anyone would even enjoy the facility at this stage its not even finished, the walls aren't painted, there's no ladder on the diving board and the Sauna doesn't even have the seats installed" said Jeff

"But some of us really, really like what your doing and we want to see it" They said, vexed.

"Well ok the facility isn't ready for me to open it to the entire town. So how about everyone who is interested signs this list and I'll will pick people randomly. It will only be a few at first but as the facility nears completion I'll let more people in" said Jeff.

The towns folk sulked, but accepted Jeff's idea.

Now many of the people in the town contacted Jeff and offered to help him with the new facility, both with money and with Labor. Jeff thought for a moment and said "Well the facility is progressing well and a need to see if we can handle the increased Load. I mean you guys can wait a few weeks if you want but if you guys wanna donate 30 bucks to test the facility right now, Im ok with that"

Some members of the community got angry, "OMG this is supposed to be a free Pool Jeff, a FREE POOL!!!!!!, and your letting people pay to use it. That is so in ethical" They sobbed.

Jeff was bemused "I mean People can make a donation to the Upkeep of the pool and sample the unfinished facility if they want. but there's a perfectly functional finished pool that you can use for free right now, it comes fully equipped with slides and pool noodles and you can use it as much as you want. And besides I'm still picking people at random from the list of people who said they were interested, in-fact I'm picking more people from that list than ever before"

"Its just not Fair", they repeated, "How are the rest of us supposed to get good lockers when the new facility opens, all those rich guys who paid to get in will be able to take all the good spots"

"Well actually they wont, because before I open the new facility I'm going to clear out the entire place, so everyone will have the same chance to claim whatever lockers they like" Jeff clarified. "Besides the people who get to test the facility early only get to see half of the facility there's still a wave pool, a lazy river and water cannons for everyone to experience for free when the facility opens"

Sadly Jeff realised that if you give people something for free they begin to take it for granted. The community became entitled and felt that they deserved early access to Jeff's. They forgot that its a rarity to get such a good pool without having to pay a single penny.

Would maybe have been nice to have something for the Beta key like you guys usually do with the soundtrack : Not interested / Already have one, get something else instead !

would have made those new packs suddently way more interesting for someone like me :p

This might blow your mind but that is why there are multiple packs beneath that one.

My point was, the price/value ratio is worse than if you buy a handful of dirt for 100 $. Even the cheapest supporter pack costs about as much as the whole game should.

imo awakening and ruler of highgate weapon effects looks same :D

Just bought my pack, first one in a long time. Will probably upgrade later on.
