Nothing weird at all about it. When a movie is just released in the theater, is it usually available for sale on DVD or streaming rent at the same time? Why not?

GGG spent thousands of dollars (let's say $7,000 if they got every discount and $15,000 on the upper end) to send some Devs from New Zealand to San Francisco and present their expansion to some of the gaming websites and magazines. The gaming companies spent money in travel, lodging, expenses and employee payroll to have their representatives connect with GGG and get the scoop on Path of Exile's amazing new expansion.

Let's do a ballpark and guestimate that $35,000 to $50,000 was spent by all parties to generate some hype and reader/fan interest.

Where's the return? Are you personally putting up a thousand dollars to help cover this?

They didn't. This is the time for the gaming sites to bask in their relative exclusive on the information.

To go back to my opening analogy - The movie is in the theaters - it will appear on DVD, but in the meantime, the theaters have an exclusive on it. The gaming sites have an exclusive and rightly so.

So - click on those links, check out the information and get hyped up for PoE the Awakening!

It is going to be amazing, and throughout the coming weeks, GGG will respond to all of our frantic cries to know more.

Believe me, I am as excited to see GGG give out more information as anyone else, but there was a lot of work and money put into getting this information out the the rest of the world, and they deserve to get some recognition and web site hits over the weekend.

Not to mention, that the GGG team deserves their time off.

I designed one of the unique items in The Awakening. It hasn't been shown off in any of the marketing materials. What's weird is I could've sworn I've seen it around here somewhere...
