After recording today's video, we came across this build that uses similar mechanics but with a different combo. Despite being the focus of Friday's patch (and potentially more changes this week), this low-life/instability/clone build is extremely clever and we wanted to give it an honourable mention for Build of the Week.

Potentially more changes this week

I'm proud I made the build that got hotfix nerfed by 80% in under a week :
Kamikaze Clones /1204796 (LL Mirror Arrow Instability Prolif)
Oh, just when I wanted to make a bow summoner next patch they nerfed it.

FUCK.

Minions are minions = the end of scaling.

BA/MA summoners are != MA MI prolif at all.

The former specializes primarily in auras to buff minions and minion offensive stats (like SRS), the latter specializes only in +skills and minion life.

It really does look and feel like poison arrow and it should be compared to that. While it is true that PA scales additionally from (trap/mine/)chaos/projectile/dot, it primarily scales from +skills. MI prolif is similar in that it primarily scales from +skills in addition to traditional burn scaling such as -resists/EE/dual-curse and minion life.

Also, if you haven't done the actual summoner variant, I highly recommend it. :)

I have a build link in my sig and it has no problem clearing maps and being a very unique and fun summoner-esque build to play. This change (or the one before it allowing MI to trigger on summon at low life in the first place) did not affect it at all.
logical nerf is logical.

i mean seriously, did you really expected it to stay as it were?

Wasn't nerfed hard enough the first time they think - gotta make sure the guy who made it with 80 ex gear can't run it anymore. They're going to probably nerf it down to 98% of its original damage.

Pneuma, you know exactly what i mean with my statement.

The potential to scale a skill outside of gear is what is important in this case, since it allows players with "lack of gear" to still play a combination "they can't afford" but at the cost of having more risk associated with it.

For this particular build, that's no longer possible. You either go all in and enjoy a semi decent build, but once your passive tree has allocated all the minion stuff it's up to an empower lvl 3+ and a +3 bow as the only avenue's to increase the builds potential.

Where as a poison arrow build can do fine without a +3 bow or empower since you can decide to scale more damage in the passive tree at the expense of having a more fragile character.

But meh, it is what it is, just voicing my opinion on the mater what's done is done, no take backs :).

Peace,

-Boem-

edit : if they do a 2 week race or something, i will test this combo because i still think it's a very cool theory craft :) i might update this thread then with first-hand experience to back it up.
