"What the heck kind of build would use that? For a wand build it's got maybe half of a decent physical damage bonus along with a small lightning damage bonus, and nothing else. The caster bonuses are at best mediocre for a Lightning build, and at worst total junk. lv 60 Caster wands that are actually decent can get up to 100% spell damage alone. This wand epitomizes the reason I think it's nonsensical for caster weapons to also have weapon damage stats. "It's the only way to get power charges outside of a wand build. I'm not sure why you would think that the wand is crap. Remember that uniques are not meant to be generally applicable.
The high physical damage increase means that you'll be using your wand to attack. The best bonus is undoubtedly the blinding. You'll have a global 10% blind chance, but you have an additional level 5 blind, that should stack, for the gems socketed in your wand. Note that this also means that this is effectively a 4 socket wand for skill planning purposes. (blind is most definitely going to be part of your build if you have this wand.) The spell damage and cast speed mods may be trumped by other items you have found, but that doesn't mean that it's crappy. If I found a wand like this, I'd immediately start planning a build for it. I think it is awesome. |

I'd just like to point out that the uniques in the legacy section at the bottom of the post are now available to drop again from maps. The reason that these left the pool is that they were assigned to base types that were higher level than the available content. With maps, this is now no longer the case.
Here are the map levels that could drop the relevant uniques: Level 63 Map - Hyrri's Ire Level 64 Map - Lioneye's Glare, Divinarius Level 66 Map - Kaom's Heart, Rathpith Globe Level 68 Map - Lioneye's Remorse Edit: The old versions displayed here will probably have incorrect base item stats, so you you will need to update the links when someone finds a new one. I smile when someone says "that's a crappy unique, I don't know why anyone would want it".
I thought the same about Crown of Thorns, and Redbeak. The former I found a great use for, and the latter is in the featured build video #5. There is always a use for uniques. This wand is awesome I think. Very respectable physical damage, which is useful for slinger builds, but most importantly the double chance to blind makes for a great PvP tool! I have a couple questions regarding blind however that hopefully devs can answer: 1) If you have, say, Power Siphon on this wand and hit with it, what's the chance to blind? Is it rolled twice? (Once for the wand's chance on hit and another for the blind on spell bonus?) Or do the chances stack additively? 2) Can you actually use a Blind support gem in this wand? If so, will it override its bonus? Otherwise, are there THREE separate rolls for blinding? Or do they stack again? |

" So.. for example Hyrri Ire may drop ONLY in lvl 63 map or 63 AND UP? Same with rest uniques. Map lvl that can drop particular unique is based on base itemlvl or clvl requierement? I really hope that is not tiered drops like in D3 inferno or smth :) |

" Makes sense to me. What it means is that each unique does have a base ilvl. An item of a certain ilvl can only drop from monsters of that level. This way you won't get Terminus Est dropping from Normal Difficulty Merveil. It just so happens that as they're building this game, they put in ilvl's of items that are higher than the available content. Those Legacy items happened to fit in there, because on some Legacy patches, the level of monsters was higher than what was available in 9.10. So those items were temporarily retired because they simply could not be found again. Now that new >60 content has come out, monsters are at a higher level, and can therefore drop higher ilvl loot. I'll smash your nose with 20 Alterations before I'll sell them for 1 lousy Chaos. 16:1. No questions. |

Oh how I've missed Hyrri's Ire. Now my cold dmg shadow will be complete.
I assume that the uniques Jonathan just mentioned follow the same rules as all other Items, i.e., if the item is req lvl i63 it can drop from a rare monster in a lvl 61 map. I'd like to know if Jonathan posted the req lvl of the items or the bare minimum map lvl when the items can be found. So in the case of Hyrri's is the armor req lvl 63 or 65? |
