It's 53 actually, the 54 comes from one of the gems.
The chaos resistance is mostly where it's at. The other resistances can free up ring slots or passive skill points though (either from the tree or from not having to take a +8 to all resistances as a reward from the bandits). |

" In my experience, it's the opposite. Early resists are easy enough to pick up on rings and whatnot as gear isn't as important in the early stages of the game - later on when I hit Merciless and start tweaking my gear to my tastes, resists are harder to come by. After this next resistance penalty patch, it'll be even more so. To each his own, I guess? :P Some items in this post are currently unavailable.

Ran about 15 level 62-63 maps yesterday and the day before hoping Aegis Aurora would show up - no luck though :P

I run 62+ maps with 200~ rarity and no really good uniques despite that. I'm swimming in 'common' uniques though.
