Unarmed attacks are Melee, but do not currently count as one handed or two handed weapons. Fists are not considered dual-wielding, either.

" They also apparently have 0% base crit chance, as Mark revealed in another thread. The only attack skills I have found that work unarmed are Frenzy and Elemental Hit. I'm kind of hoping this changes at some point, as it's difficult to work any decent AoE out of fists without decent base crit chance. Urist McDwarfy has been happy lately. He admired an exceptional ARPG recently. He took joy in slaughter lately. He has been attacked by the dead recently.

Dat attack speed. I love these machine gun style, low damage high rate of fire weapons.
