Thanks for the update, but we really are in need of some clarifications here.
Will existing Russian players still be able to play on EU servers? If not, will our MTX and characters be transferred to Garena servers? And I do so hope that the answer for the first question is Yes, Chris... BTW, Steam access would be great too, yeah. And the translation is plain gross. One does not simply unsee those Templar-Priests and Shadow-Bandits, ffs!!! Sapienti ban...

Russian servers will probably be separate, because if they want compelling prices for MTX they will have to set them very low, as ruble isn't at its best shape right now. Therefore, they will have to lock servers down to avoid abuse by players from other regions.
PoE isn't language heavy game and let's be honest, no one reads NPC dialogs anyway. All one has to know is the difference between 'increased' and 'more'. Moreover, the game isn't about the story, it's about loot and mechanics. Any non-native speaker can figure out basics in a couple of days, if not hours. As a Russian player I hope I will still be able to access European realm with its developed economy and vast playerbase, without being locked to specific regional game-client. GGG shouldn't have done any deals with Garena in the first place, but instead set up their own workshop on Steam for user generated content and profit off market fees. It sounds much better than alienating and separating community by a third-party company that offers nothing compelling. |

" Plus one. I know a bunch of ppl who didn't even try to play only because of lack of russian translation but still most of the russian community would like to stay in EU. Permanently sorry for bad English :D

Hail from Russia Chris! Standalone servers is very good idea. Maybe desync will be less than it's now. But why do the translation of the game? It's will be awful. I went to the home page http://poe.garena.ru and that's what I saw. Templar was translated as priest, duelist as gladiator, maradeur as savage etc. WTF? A feeling that the translation did stupid students. And that's just the name of the characters! It's scary to imagine that there will be dialogues and the voices.
Anyway thanks for your Game! |
